I wouldn't be able to help with Superman but the current ongoing on Flash is great but I especially like Buccellato's run on it.

Geoff Johns' Green Lantern run is great.

You could check out other works by Alan Moore, such as V for Vendetta, From Hell and Swamp Thing.

    Batman:

    • Year One
    • All of Scott Snyder's run in the New 52 (Court of Owls, City of Owls, Death of the Family, Zero Year Secret/Dark City, Black Mirror)
    • Killing Joke
    • The Man Who Laughs
    • Hush
    • Long Halloween
    • Dark Victory
    • Knightfall
    • Earth One (for a very grounded take on Batman)
    • If you want to see general BatGod feats then check out Grant Morrison's run on Batman
    • JLA: Tower of Babel

    Superman

    • All Star Superman
    • Red Son
    • Superman: Earth One vol.1/2
    • Superman: Braniac
    • The Death of Superman (this is one of those comics that you should just read because of how iconic it is, not really an amazing story)
    • Superman: Birthright
    • Kingdom Come

    Flash

    • Flash: Rebirth
    • Flashpoint
    • Brian Buccellato and Francis Manupal's run on Flash in the New 52

I don't read Marvel, so I don't have any recommendations on that.

I would also highly recommend Jeff Lemire's recent run on Green Arrow New 52 issues 17-34. If you are looking for trade it would be The Kill Machine and The Outsiders War, but you should stay away from anything before issue 17. Also, Green Arrow: Year One is highly recommended. Green Lantern is also a good book, check out Green Lantern: Rebirth, Sinestro Corps War, and basically anything with Geoff Johns as writer.

Don't worry, my friend, I'm new to it as well. I grew up watching tons of DBZ and Justice League/Batman cartoons, mostly Justice League Unlimited and Batman: The Animated Series. However, it was recently, around 2010 or so, that I learned the comic books superheroes far outdo their animated counterparts; this is what I loved, the fact that the comic book heroes had DBZ powers, and beyond. It intrigued me. So, I'm doing my best to get into comic books, but it's tough going, mostly because there is so many contradictory works and statements made during interviews out there. If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

@obsidian_raindrop1: No. for jumping on points, I'd say for Batman and Robin you'd want #33, both Detective Comic and The Flash #30, Superman #32, etc.

    Detective Comics New 52

    Suicide Squad New 52

    Resurrection Man New 52

All Green Lantern new 52 books imo.

Forever Evil (exception of A.R.G.U.S) was really good but would really need to get up to date with the universe its set in to truly enjoy it.
