Publisher of iconic characters and teams such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Justice League of America, and the Teen Titans and originator of the American superhero genre. They are one of the "big two" American comic publishers, along with rival Marvel Comics. DC Entertainment is a subsidiary of Warner Brothers and its parent company Time Warner.
This wouldn't be so bad if the MK series actually had a decent fighting system, but unless they remake the fighing engine from scratch this will be krap.

Yeah, it is a bit stupid, but Marvel vs Capcom worked out fine as a game if you disregard the powerlevels of the characters. Shuma-Gorath would kill all others in MvC2 with a thought.

Graphics look good, but the idea as a whole is stupid. Half of the heroes in DC are against killing, so it's gonna just be so hard to watch Supes pull off a fatality.
Midway, I know that you totally suck nowadays, but try not to ruin the DCU like Marvel Nemesis ruined the Marvel U?
I think people have to remember it's only a game and not canonical, as far as characters go, like the superman and batman (amongst alot of others) that don't kill! As stated it's a game, and it's part of the entertainment! it's not part of DC history where batman or superman all of a sudden kill! it has nothing to do with the history of the DCU and it's made for entertainment to watch your favourite DC superheroes butt heads with the MKU! Nothing more nothing less, there not trying to re-write DCU history here! Don't everyone take it personal and think that batman or superman kills now just because you can do a fatality with them in the game lol enjoy it, they're are great images!

It doesn't matter if it's cannon or not.MK sucks. It has sucked for quite some time now.If this isthere gimmick to keep up with Street Fighter,Smash Bros.,Tekken,Soul Calibur, and DOA...it's not a very good one.DC has a horrible reputation with games...and there hasn't been an MK that sold a mill since Deadly Alliance.I'm 21 now and i'm pretty sure I was still a minor when that came out.

I'm not tense at all.I was just giving reasons why I think the games is going to suck.Becuase when I don't back up my opinion people start b!tchin. All im saying is I have no idea why DC would bother. They haven't really ever had a good history with the gaming world and now there doing a crossover with the biggest downward spiral of all time.

I'm just saying, from the promo's and teaser I saw, it was awsome just seeing Batman & Sub Zero fighting on the same panel on the screen! Awsomeness is all I can say, but that's just me!

an interview on ign said that superman, batman, and the other dc heros won't be breaking character and do fatalitys it'll be more like finishing moves for them i'll get the interview and post it in a minute
It started like any other videogame trailer. It was dark, there was some lightning, and slowly the words "This fall, worlds will collide and the fate of the universe shall be decided" began appearing on the screen. While the words popped up, Sub-Zero stomped Batman's head into the ground.
There is a God.
Remember those doodles in the margins of your seventh grade social studies notebook? They're coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this fall as Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, a title merging Kombat's fighters with the superheroes of DC Comics. The unexpected announcement came at Midway Gamers' Day in Las Vegas, and the trailer kept rolling with scenes pulled from every little boy's imagination -- Sub-Zero kneeing Batman in the back, the duo brawling through a brick wall and fighting while they plummeted to earth, and a still shot of the bad asses staring each other down.
The title will introduce a "cataclysmic force" that brings the two universes together and forces them to square off in a tale written by Jimmy Palmiotti (co-founder of Marvel Knights) and Justin Gray (writer of Jonah Hex and Crisis Aftermath: The Battle for Bludhaven), according to Midway. If players aren't up for the story, they can go at it in an arena mode, but if they are up for the yarn, gamers will pick a character from one of the universes and play through the adventure from one of two unique perspectives.
"Kombat forces friends to fight, worlds to collide, and unlikely alliances to be forged," Midway's press release reads. "In order to save all they know, the heroes and villains of Mortal Kombat must wage war against the combined might of the DC Universe."
While onstage, Ed Boon, creative director on the project, confirmed that Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Batman and Superman are in the game with more to follow. Boon also announced two new fighting mechanics in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Freefall Kombat will take advantage of the game's multi-tiered environments and have opponents brawl as they fall -- similar to the Bats/Sub-Zero teaser fight -- while Klose Kombat will pull the camera in tight on the two fighters so that bruises, torn clothing, jaws recoiling from fists and other gruesome details can be stressed.
Once we got Boon alone, we were able to get a little more out of him. Onstage, he mentioned that each character would have signature moves, and we decided to grill him it -- Can Batman die in this game? Can Superman pull off a fatality? Although he wouldn't get too specific, Boon said that he'd expect something closer to finishers than fatalities because of those out-of-character situations.
Looks like Bruce will live to see another sidekick.
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is being developed at Midway Amusement Games in Chicago and is set for a fall release, but we're uber-nerds at IGN so look for updates as soon as we can get them.
I was glad to see DC characters in a fighting game, although I would have preferred something like DC vs Capcom.
I'm guessing along with Superman and Batman, Wonder Woman, some Green Lantern, Robin, Aquaman (please have a whale finisher), Darkseid - but I hope it isn't all those "popular" DC characters that everyone recognizes, throw in someone like Ragman or Beast Boy.
I wonder if there'll be a krypt to unlock DC stuff.
I wouldn't care about fatalities and stuff : it's Mortal Kombat. Also I expect the story line to be silly - I find the MK storyline silly anyways, with identical twins and such.

We'll see how awesome it is when Midway loses money because the game flops.
Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has confirmed the presence of fatalities in Midway’s forthcoming next-gen brawler, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.
Speaking during an interview with Gamespot, Boon confirmed that combatants from both franchises would sport fatalities, though noted some of the DC characters would not actually kill their opponents, instead leaving them alive in the form of brutalities.
“All of the MK characters and all of the DC villains will have fatalities. The DC heroes who don't kill that often will have brutalities that will function just like fatalities but don't actually kill the opponent,” said Boon.
MK vs. DC Universe is currently in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is due for release later this year. A playable demo is expected to show up at E3 next month.
Characters confirmed so far include Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, Superman, Batman and Flash, with playable locations including Lin Kuei Temple and Gotham City.
I wouldn't say totally better, we're not developers, Mugen is great since it's basically the engine that runs Capcom fighting games, its made to customize and mod. I still have low standards for this game.
