    Hi :) So I've already read all of the following:

    Batman: Hush

    Batman: The Court of Owls

    Aquaman: The Trench

    Justice League: Origin

    Green Arrow: Year One

    Watchmen

    I'm currently reading Hellblazer: Original Sins

    ~~~~~~~~
    I have the following making their way to me (In addition to some Marvels):
    Batman: Long Halloween
    Kingdom Come
    Green Arrow: Quiver
    ~~~~~~~~

    So, I'm planning a questionably-distant-future purchase as well. Any reccomendations? I've a mind for:

    Batman: Black Mirror, No Man's Land Vol 1, The City of Owls, The Man who Laughs, Birth of the Demon, Earth One, The Joker

    Superman: Birthright, Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow, For Tomorrow

    Green Lantern: Rebirth, Sinestro Corps War, Blackest Night (the last two would have to come along with Rebirth if I'm not mistaken)

    Swamp Thing: Raise them Bones

    Others that have crossed my mind: V for Vendetta, Identity Crisis, Shazam! Vol 1 (comes out in a few months).

    So I need you guys to do the hard work, and pick out the best 3-4 of those. Of course I'd love some more suggestions. Thanks in advance, you guys rule! :)

    Thanks :)

    I've never really considered Animal-Man. Is it really that good? Is it a better choice than most of the above?

    As for Marvel, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna Get Captain America: Winter Soldier, and maybe Waid's Daredevil or something. I only need help deciding which DCs I should take, but thanks anyway man :)

    I haven't read most of the other DC titles you've listed, but my cousin has and i lend him my animal man comics, and by his reaction id say its better than most yes. I personally love it, easily my favorite new 52 title

    If you want some marvel, read the Uncanny X-Force serie by Rick Remender. It's awesome.

    If you like the pre new 52 stuff read knightfall, no man's land, and Death in the family. You can get knightfall and nml in novelivations to save some cash.

    Batman: Dark Victory is the sequel to Long Hallowe'en, so it seems like a sensible option, if you like Long Hallowe'en of course.

    Really? I heard it wasn't very good...

    @v_scarlotte_rose:

    Yeah I thought of that too, but I don't really like its artwork.

    I'd love your opinion on the ones I've mentioned in the OP too though :)

    As for now, I'm pretty sure I'm getting Superman: Birthright, and Captain America: Winter Soldier Ultimate Collection.

    @the_red_viper: It's the same artist as Long Hallowe'en though, so they look pretty similar.

    No Mans Land Volume 1 is good though.

    @v_scarlotte_rose: I know, maybe I'll get used to the artwork with time though (I didn't really like Jock's style at first too, but now he's one of my faves).

    About No Man's Land, I really want to read it, but many people say I should read some other Batman stories before No Man's Land (Year One, The Man who Laughs, Killing Joke, Arkham Asylum). The only one of those that I've considered is The Man who Laughs, but I'd like to try some less ordinary stories (like No Man's Land, Birth of the Demon, The Joker & stuff).

    @the_red_viper: I don't know if it's necessary to read them in a particular order, as I can't think of anything from Year One or Arkham Asylum that you'd need to know before reading No Mans Land, though maybe people just meant you should go with well known stories first. I'd just go with whatever looks good.

    @v_scarlotte_rose: Yeah that was what I was thinking too, then everyone started telling me that Y1, The Man who Laughs and especially Killing Joke are so much better than NML, and that NML is good but overall isn't anything to write home about. By first glance, NML sounds really, really good but I'm not that sure anymore... god if I only had enough money to buy all of those comics...

    What? Lex Luthor: Man of Steel is the best Luthor comic book ever made. Anyone who told you it wasn't good has no taste.

    @the_red_viper: It's a fine read but it has some... controversial moments. It's not your typical Joker story.

    The New Frontier.

    And yes, Lex Luthor: Man of Steel is very good and so is the Joker.

    Batman: Black Mirror, No Man's Land Vol 1, The City of Owls, The Man who Laughs, Birth of the Demon, Earth One, The Joker

    Forget what everyone hear is saying because my suggestion is the one that matters most. You must read....

    1. Batman The Black Mirror

    2. The City of Owls

    3. Joker

    4. Lex Luthor Man of Steel.

    5. For The Man Who Has Everything.

    6. Any Secret Six. Secret Six is amazing.

    Secret Six was an ongoing title before the New 52 reboot. Unfortunately it was not rebooted. Secret Six was about a gang of mercenaries consisting of Bane, Deadshot, Scandal Savage, Jeannette, Ragdoll, Catman and a bunch of other temporary members. The book followed the adventures of these misfit villains. The team dynamic was hilarious.

    For The Man Who Has Everything was written by the greatest writer ever Allan Moore. Same guy that wrote Watchmen, the Killing Joker and V for Vendetta. Its a terrific Superman story.

    @theocitylegend: Oh, never knew Moore wrote another Superman besides "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow".

    Anyway, I'm kind of a Superman noob, so wouldn't Birthright be a better choice for a beginner?

    And the Secret Six sound pretty good too :)
