I'm gonna say the answer is yes. Why? Because it FEELS like a reboot. After hating for so long, looking at it as a mockery of the JSA, my favorite superhero team period, I finally decided to sit down and read it again and to look at it on its own merits without comparing it to anything that came before. And...... It's FAR better than the mainstream New 52. I am not joking. It's clearly doing its own thing, it's not debating over if this happened or if that happened, it's able to tell a single cohesive narrative for the universe that works.

I still feel that making Alan Scott gay was a cheap attempt to draw people in with a gay Green Lantern, even though he's not even a member of the Corps and just shares the name which in all honesty feels like a cop-out on DC's part to be completely honest.

That being said, the rest of it? It's actually a great Elseworlds. That's what I'm looking at it like, an Elseworld's that has it's own ongoing series.

But I ask you. Is it better than the mainstream New 52 universe?

Not even close.

I find it inconsistent with characters and story lines that go nowhere. I think they are trying too hard to introduce EVERY character from JSA so we're getting a flood of introductions with half done origin stories then a forgotten or killed off characters ... I like some of the new origins, but it's getting hard to follow the main story because there are so many side stories.

Hopefully it will get better when Powergirl and Huntress return to Earth 2

anyway. no, I like the New 52.

While Earth Two is a great book and all, I don't think I can say a universe with one great book can be as good as a universe with several great books, even if the universe with several great books also has several mediocre or awful books.

No because I don't think that the best of Earth-2 matches up with the best of the mainstream universe.
