If Dc had a version of the Illuminati, who would be in it?

We all know that in the Marvel Universe, the Illuminati are a group of some of the most powerful beings on Earth who make the tough decisions and try to keep things balanced. If a group were to form like this in the Dc Universe, who would be on it?

note- you don't have to neccesarily find the group's exact counterparts, but rather practical people who would want to join this group

Trinity
Atom
maybe Mr. Terrific
Dr. Fate I guess

If anything the Original Leaguers are like an Illuminati, WW being a diplomat of her people, Aquaman being a diplomat of his, and there is the point of them being uber powerful too

Batman, Aquaman, Mr. Terrific, Dr. Fate, Wonder Woman, John Stewart, Hawkman, Alan Scott, and Superman. Off the top of my head, those are the people I could see being in DC's Illuminati.

I swear I saw a picture in one book, once, that had a circle of some figures in the DCU. It wasn't strictly Earth-based though; I think it had Phantom Stranger and a Guardian of Oa in it among others. Maybe not exactly the same, and I'm not sure the context of the image, but that springs to mind.

I think it might be the original Leaguers though.

@InnerVenom123: Oddly enough, that was the first thing that I thought of too.

Honestly, I'm not sure, but I imagine Batman is at least on it, for sales sake, you know?

Read Identity Crisis.

That is DC's Illuminati:

Barry Allen
Hal Jordan
Green Arrow
Zatanna
Hawkman
Black Canary
The Atom

The dark JLA. The ones that did the dirty work.

i TOTALLY forgot about them!! although to be fair, i can't see Barry being on the team permanently, wasn't he kind of against it in the first place?

EDIT- you also just gave me a battle idea! lol

Well, the "team" generally did the job of cleaning up after the rest of the JLA. They wiped the minds of many people, and it wasn't the first time they wiped Light's mind. What the big debate was about was:

A. Whether to outright lobotomize Light's mind using magic to change his personality after he raped Sue Dibny.
B. To wipe Batman's mind after he saw them lobotomizing Dr. Light.

But prior to that, I believe Barry was a steady member of this secret society within the JLA.

PS: Happy to be your muse.

The Illuminati isn't based on the strongest heroes, It's based on each aspect or types of heroes.

Shoot I totally forgot about Identity Crisis. Good call.

I'd Say -
Batman
Aquaman
Dr. Fate
Wonder Woman
Martian Manhunter

and someone who could assume a 'Reed Richards' type role, but i don't know DC well enough, any help?

You're absolutely right.

The Illuminati were supposed to be the premium minds of the world (or at the very least, characters of immense status and overall significance), coming together behind the scenes in order to perform tasks under the table for the overall improvement of mankind, not just their own skins, despite the fact that it backfired.

Identity Crisis JLA is X-Force in disguise, not the Illuminati.

And they all reepreseneted a different type of hero.

They actually had something similar to this in a newer (2004-ish era) version of the team where i believe Black Canary was the lead of the team bc they wanted to choose someone more down to earth or something and she caught Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman in a secret room in Watch tower making behind the scenes decisions
