How the f-ck is Infinite Crisis not canon?

#1 Posted by comicdude23 (11399 posts) - - Show Bio

I just read that in October 2011 it was officially announced that crises aren't canon. How does that make sense? That means Current Superman never met GA Superman, Power Girl never learnt who she really is, Superboy never died, etc. Doesn't make sense.

Superboy wouldn't have died in the New 52 anyway since he was only created about 5 months ago ( Comic time )

Although, Batman still came back from the dead.

The New Reboot is a pile of crap and makes no sense, that's how IC can not be canon.

Didio confirmed on his FB that the crisis' were canon.

Thus making the reboot an even bigger clusterf@#k.

Really? I don't see how they have fit it in, but it's still early I guess.

He said it after he said they weren't canon, apparently.

Probably just to save his own ass.

So... its pretty much, if you are more inclined to give DC money if its canon then it is canon, but if you don't really care and might be more inclined to give DC money if its not canon, then it isn't =p **Didio style wink**

The three crisis "happened" just not the way you read them. No need to go into detail.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SupermanPrime MUST LIVE

My reaction to DC's inconsistencies
#18 Posted by TDK_1997 (14896 posts) - - Show Bio

DC tied themselves really good with what's cannon and what's not.

That means Current Superman never met GA Superman,

Which is important because?

Power Girl never learnt who she really is,

Power Girl isn't the same character as she wwas before. She pretty much doesn't exist.

Superboy never died,

Superboy was created just now, of course he hasn't died. All of his history was erased.

etc. Doesn't make sense.

It does. Its a clusterfck but it does.

If it means no more Superboy Prime I'm all for it

The main problem I have with the new 52 is that in 5 years, there have been 4 Robins and 4 Green Lanterns. At this rate, we should be due for a new one of each. Is DC running a Robin/Green Lantern boot camp somewhere?

#23 Posted by AweSam (7375 posts) - - Show Bio

Fine, you guys decide what you want.

A: DC keeps the reboot the way they did it without everyone bitching.

B: They reboot everything completely. Meaning, Dick Grayson as Robin, Hal Jordan as Green Lantern, no Justice League, etc.

Take all the reboot retcon with a pile of salt, wait atleast a few years to have a fundamental continuity established.

Agreed. Stories are still being fleshed out and the new history is still being told. Its called marketing strategy; it'll all be revealed sooner or later so until then just take everything with a grain of salt and stop pretending like theres never been a reboot in comics before.

@katanalauncher: in the time it took me to make my post, you said exactly what i was thinking

But I had it on word from a trustworthy friend.

Sorry. :P

@ReVamp: GA Superman meeting the New Superman was epic, I think Power-Girl does exist....

It was Epic but unimportant and the Power Girl that exists isn't the same. She's from Earth-2, which means that the Karen Starr we knew pre-Flashpoint doesn't exist.
