If you said buying the rights for Spider-Man back from Sony I might have believed you but just no.

These rumors pop up on a regular basis, people love to speculate about things people hold dear and anything that would cause drama. I wouldnt think twice about it until you see it in a legitimate news source.

The rumor was Marvel could buy the rights to Superman (though this was never confirmed) if DC lost the legal battle with the Siegel/Shuster estates. However Warner Brothers and DC kicked their butts so now Superman is safely with DC forever.

I could never see this happening. If DC lost the rights to Superman, DC would not be able to survive. Without characters such as Superman, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Supergirl, Superboy, Brainiac, Jimmy Olsen, etc. the DC universe would have to be changed extremely. The change would be so extreme that the DC universe would not be recognizable. Superman has a huge influence on how the DC universe is like. Superman moving to Marvel also would be lead to Marvel being a very odd place. Seeing what has been known as the DC's poster child for many, many years now interracting in stories with characters like Spiderman, Hulk, Wolverine, and Captain America would be so odd the Marvel universe wouldn't feel the same either.

i remember the rumor around god maybe 2009 when the family was suing dc about the rights and there was some time date till like 2013. luckly it never happened since that would honestly ruin dc in a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge way

i know im just saying at the time when all that legal crap was happening the heirs seemed like greedy pricks out to make a buck honestly. knowing them they probably wouldve sold it to marvel for a hefty penny plus with disney owning marvel and star wars they couldve asked somewhere in the billion dollar ball park.

Yeah this is a silly rumour, Superman has always belonged to DC.

No, I can't see this happening since Superman is a big part of DC and losing him would mean that DC would go downhill.

yea the rumor was flying around way back in 2009. But since DC has won the legal battle it's not happening. Also it was not that Marvel was going to, just that they could. If the lawsuit had gone the other way, the guy who would get the rights was that stupid crazy lawyer , Toberoff or something like that
