If DC Earth was to form a version of the Illuminati who would be a part of it and what would they be representing
    example:

    • The Iron Man Role: The master of technology, represents the technological and industrial community. Also represents the type of hero that would work with the government.
    • The Namor Role:  The anti-hero
    • The Mister Fantastic Role: The Scientific Intellect, represents science and the scientific community
    • The Professor X Role: represents the Meta-humans population and community
    • The Black Bolt Role: Represents Royalty and the neighboring Galactic community and population
    • The Doctor Strange Role: The Master of Magic, represents the mystical/magical community and population, as well as that edge of society.

ps if this was already a topic used please inform me about that I tried searching for it but nothing showed up in my searches.

I think this group would more fairy be compared to a cosmic group of watchmen then they would be to the Illuminati don't you?

but this Quintessence would definitely stomp Marvel's Illuminati and I'm going to learn more about them thank you.

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman. Remember when they were kinda setting up a new Justice League behind the scenes a couple years ago?

If there were a secret organization deciding the course of the DCU Batman would have to be there. Supes and Diana might be too straightforward. Hell I think Aquaman is too straight forward too and DC's Atlantis is so different from Marvel's Atlantis. Marvel has much more outcasts.

Exactly the team I was going to mention.

    Ganthet - worldly science
    Highfather - divine science
    Zeus - classic pantheon
    Shazam - worldly magic
    Phantom Stranger - divine magic

as InnerVenom123 said, it's Batman. He even made the Brother Eye satellite to monitor things. Some ideas work for Marvel that don't for DC and vice versa and this is one of those things.

    @OmegaTheDestroyer:

    Here is my DC illuminati:

Batman - Intense, driven millionaire vigilante who's allied himself with many superhumans over the years, but harbors a healthy (sometimes unhealthy) suspicion of them.  As a member of the DC illuminati, he gets to keep tabs on and influence the superhuman community.

Aquaman - Sovereign of over two thirds of the Earth's surface.  Commands all sea-life.  He would feel he deserves to have a seat of power and influence here.

Chief (Dr. Niles Caulder) - eccentric and arrogant genius who seeks to make the world better for mankind.  The catch is; he decides what's better.

Dr. Fate - Possibly the most learned and adept mystic on Earth.  His sorcerous powers and mystic education would give him a unique and valued position on this panel.

Wonder Woman - for all her honor and nobilty, Diana is still an Amazon Princess who was intitially sent to man's world to represent her people while changing/influencing man's world.  She would feel entitled to make decisions concerning the affairs of humans, superhumans and gods alike.  Being in this group would suit her needs quite nicely.

Metron - the cosmos traveling immortal New God from New Genesis could fill the role of cosmic presence here to guide mankind toward our ultimate destiny as one of the preeminent races in the universe.

Just off the top of my head. Cyclops is also known to study his team mates. Captain America is shown doing the same knowing their strengths and weaknesses. Iron Man has even been said to do as much. As well as Spider-man.

Doesn't fit with the marvel archetypes for the team but...

Dr. Fate - The Mystic Realms

    Batman - The Human Race

    Aquaman - Atlantis

    Queen Hippolyta - Amazons

John Stewart - GL Corps (seems like a better choice than the others)

    Rip Hunter - Time Master

Bumping this to put my thoughts in since I was just thinking about this today

    • The Doctor Strange role - John Constantine. He's not a team player but this kind of group might well be up John's street. If he's willing to work with other mystics, he'd be up for a team like this. He's much more shadowy than the other mystics suggested. Maybe the Phantom Stranger instead?
    • The Mr Fantastic role - Mr Terrific. He's a very scientific minded hero and resembles Reed in a few ways. Plus he was Checkmate's Black King once and that's as shadowy as organisations go.
    • The Black Bolt role - Honestly I think Aquaman might go for this. It would be a way of clandestinely protecting Atlantis' interests plus he'd want to check up on things here.
    • The Iron Man role - Although he wouldn't work with the government, I can't think of anyone else better suited to Iron Man's role than Batman. This kind of thing would be right up his street.
    • The Professor X role - I think Wonder Woman could play this part. For all her mission of peace, she has, at times, wanted to take the affairs of Man's world on herself.

DC has an Illuminati, it's called Stormwatch. I'm not saying its good or makes sense but it's better than any of the lists I have seen. Batman can't exist in an illuminati and anyone worth being in it wouldnt trust Batman to be in it. ....And seriously Black Lightning or Static Shock, that is your DC equivalent to Professor X? One guy can barely manage two teenage daughters and the other cant figure out how to get laid and you want them for global domination. If you are so racially insecure that you need to put another black guy in it why not go for Brother Voodoo or a character that would make sense?

Uhm, what? @aero_gt gave a pretty clear description on why he chose BL/Static. If you disagree with his choice thats fine, but I'm not sure what provoked such a knee-jerk response about race...

@knightrise: there is no description at all, let alone a pretty clear one. He picked them to represent the meta-human population and community, that is the position Xavier fills not a description of Xavier why he is suitable. Xavier not built a school for meta-humans and is a iconic political fixture in the Marvel universe, so someone like Wonder Woman, Captain Atom, or Flash (before the reboot when he had a museum) you could get away with equating to fitting Xavier's role but Static Shock and Black Lightning? Give me a break.

    • The Iron Man Role: Green arrow (since Batman is in anti hero spot)
    • The Namor Role: Batman(as anti-heroic as can get)
    • The Mister Fantastic Role: Ray palmer (i dont remember anyone else)
    • The Professor X Role: Superman(represents the community)
    • The Black Bolt Role: Orion.(fourth world)
    • The Doctor Strange Role: Dr.fate(Damn powerful)

I think if it is made in DC..some things have to change...

1.Aquaman needs to be there for being king of seas..

2.A green lantern because they are quite powerful and need to be in an illuminati like group.

    3.A flash (same as above)

4.Would be awesome if a villain like luthor would also be included...(no superman though)

5.and finally, superman and green arrow seem like they don't belong in a group like this...

    just my personal opinion though!

Some of the suggestions here don't seem to fit the idea of the Illuminati as the most powerful (in terms of standing, not just power) men of their respective universe, working behind the scenes to protect the world. "In secret, they rule" basically sums it up. Here are my (pre-52) suggestions. Like the Illuminati, they've all worked together before, so there's an overall level of respect:

    • Batman: At least the JLA/DCU Batman, not the solo title Gotham one. We've already seen that he'll go to lengths to ensure the superhuman community is kept in check (Contingency plans, OMAC, Brother Eye), and considering his genius intellect and standing within the superhero world, I can see him in this organization. Plus, he's always been prone to keeping secrets.
    • Aquaman: He's a king that rules most of the world's waters, and as royalty he readily represents the king aspect. I can see him taking on a role similar to Black Bolt's, working in secret with the rest of the group in order to preserve the world order. Aquaman has always been a hero who's willing to make hard decisions.
    • Mr. Terrific: He is the parallel to Mr. Fantastic and represents the scientific community. Aside from having a genius intellect and being a former Checkmate member, I can see him being the 'behind-the-scenes' sort of thinker.
    • Martian Manhunter: Aside from being a telepath like the Professor, he also represents the aliens of the DCU. J'onn has always been a central figure of the League, and with his level of powers I can see him here. Post-Flashpoint especially, J'onn has been portrayed as this sort of powerhouse figure.
    • Alan Scott: This might seem like an odd choice, but in Kingdom Come, we see Alan as a diplomat for New Oa. So I can see him playing a role like this, and he also represents the Green Lantern Corps as well as the superhuman community. It also ties in to his earlier role in Checkmate.
    • Dr. Fate: This is a no-brainer, Fate is basically the Sorcerer Supreme of his universe. Not much to add beyond that, but seeing as how Nabu is a Lord of Order, I'd imagine he would be concerned with preserving the peace. He represents the magical side of the DCU.

@veshark: That's a good list. I like all of your choices. Maybe Wonder Woman in Alan's spot.

I also can't see DC having an Illuminati without Superman knowing about. Then again he'd probably get tossed out like Captain America did.

@blkson Thanks. I considered Diana briefly - but I feel like she's more of a warrior than a ruler. But I guess an argument could be made for her.

Don't remind me about poor Cap - that betrayal was painful to read, even though I knew it was coming :(

    @omegathedestroyer:

    Awsome thread,

    Here's mine

1.Orion is black bolt representing royalty,

    2.black Adam is namor

3.dr fate is dr strange for obvious reasons

    4. Wonder Woman is pro x a semi telepath with a controlling demeanor

5.lex Luther is iron man but also a con man he fits here he can finagle his way into this group

6.hawkman is reed Richards although less gifted intellectually, but still possessing tech which is massive

Batman won't join, he's almost the equal to Steve Rodgers in marvel , and he's not about controlling things, and is less likely to be tricked than everyone in DC comics, IMO even superman would be a better choice than him

    - Here you go.

    - Additionally, there's Secret Society in Justice League that i do not feel like taking a picture of right now.

    Isn't DC's Trinity (almost) basically Marvel's Illuminati?

If I had to choose though, I'd pick:

    -Batman (Technology)

    -Aquaman (The Sea-Atlantis)

    -Mister Terrific (Science)

    -Martian Manhunter (Metas)

    -Wonder Women (Royalty-Amazons)

    -Doctor Fate (Magic)

Sorry but I can't see Aquaman ever being involved with something like this.

Everyone has pretty much said all the ones I'd pick already, though the Identity Crisis "League" was pretty shady.
