Sure, DC takes some flak when it comes to their live action properties, but their animated films? Well, attempting to mock those would be a foolish move because even if you don't like the characters, there's no denying the fact they've been producing some quality material. Often focusing on Batman, Superman or other members of the Justice League, we've had the treat of enjoying quite a few animated features since Superman: Doomsday landed back in 2007. There are so many excellent choices to watch over and over again, but this week, we wanted to know which one rises above the rest for you. If you're wondering why choices like Batman: Mask of Phantasm or Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam didn't make the list, it's because the options were limited to full length films from the modern era (which began with Superman: Doomsday).

After leaving the poll open for two days, one movie was the clear winner and took 39% of the votes: Batman: Under the Red Hood.

Whoa, whoa... Jason dies? SPOILERS, MAN!
Whoa, whoa... Jason dies? SPOILERS, MAN!

"I didn't expect that to win," said probably no one ever. It seemed fairly obvious this would take an edge and for plenty of good reasons, too. Not only is it packed with thrilling action sequences, but it's a talented cast of voice actors, a sharp script and some truly gripping and emotional scenes. The ending makes me almost tear up every single time and that's a true credit to how great this adventure is. I don't know about you, but I now have a super strong urge to rewatch this one tonight.

Check out the rest of the poll results below and be sure to chime in with your favorite scene from Batman: Under the Red Hood!

    • Superman: Doomsday 1%
    • Justice League: The New Frontier 4%
    • Batman: Gotham Knight 2%
    • Wonder Woman 8%
    • Green Lantern: First Flight 1 %
    • Superman/Batman: Public Enemies 2%
    • Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths 8%
    • Batman: Under the Red Hood 39%
    • Superman/Batman: Apocalypse 3%
    • All-Star Superman 5%
    • Green Lantern: Emerald Knights 1%
    • Batman: Year One 4%
    • Justice League: Doom 6%
    • Superman vs. The Elite 3%
    • Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 4%
    • Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 7%
    • Superman: Unbound 1%

Wow, no other even came close. Honestly, while Crisis On Two Earths is my personal favorite, if we're counting only the ones from Doomsday onwards, this deserved to win. It was both awesome and intense at the same time, with the best Joker that wasn't Mark Hamill. Still can't believe Wonder Woman did so well, it just wasn't a great movie. Not bad, but it had a lot of little flaws all around.

I laughed so hard when I scrolled down to see how the other movies did. However I'm surprised that Gotham Knight, Year One, and Emerald Knights did so poorly. If there was more Owlman in Crisis on Two Earths then maybe that movie would've done better, as well.

However, I think it's clear that Under the Red Hood is the far superior movie of this bunch.

The film was fantastic, and I keep saying they should use that script as a template for a WW live action film.

I can't believe Justice league DOOM got 3rd/4th place. I think that movie is subpar compared to others. The DOOM story has been overdone already. Crisis on 2 Earth is my 2nd favorite/choice/vote so I'm glad it tied for 2nd place.

Superman vs the Elite was the most memorable for me. "Heat vision, focused through your pupils like a scalpel, instant lobotomy." So cool! Honestly I'm sick to death of Batman, they should just have Deathstroke or Bane kill him... And Robin and Nightwing and Red Robin and Batgirl and Alfred and Batwing and Red Hood and....... Stop with the Bat-crap already!

Justice League Doom was probably my favorite. Tough to pick just one though. Wasn't really a fan of TDR though honestly. I love the book of course and it was cool to see it with nice artwork in an animated movie, but like you don't really get all the deep internal dialogue you would normally see Bruce Wayne going through throughout the course of the book. The writing is what made it so deep and I feel like the animated movie kinda takes away from it though. I.M.O. Still though not bad. Just saying. :p

@the_stegman: The second half of the WW animated movie I would agree. lol Didn't really care for the overwhelming man hate for the first half imo. I think a WW movie can stand out without it as this hero deserves one made on the same scale as the Superman and Batman movies have.
