Can anybody list the heroes that stand a good chance against Aquaman UNDERWATER?

Eh, I think Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter stand a good chance.

@black_claw: You obviously have never read the online comic where Green Lantern is owned by Aquaman.

As for the current question, this is amusing. As, normally Aquaman is utterly useless. But underwater... well that's a different story. Here's my take on it:
I say it really depends if you let them prepare or not. If they could prepare, I say even Wolverine could beat him with an oxygen tank.

This thread is in the wrong section. And I think it's fair to say the guy above me knows absolutely nothing about Aquaman.

Wolverine?!? Nonsense. Unless by underwater you mean the shallow end of a pool otherwise he doesnt stand a chance. Wolverine has no superhuman strength and weighs 300lbs over 100lbs is just adamantium, he sinks like a stone. P=dgh says the deeper he sinks the less he is able to move. He has no sense of smell and eventually his eyes get squashed like jelly from the pressure and later his brain and internal organs are squashed around his metal skeleton. No more Wolverine and Aquaman hasnt even thrown a punch.

Dear lord, please read an actual Aquaman comic and try again.

Within the DC universe, I'd say no one really can. He's supposed to be the supreme water hero (hence why he's like the only one). I'm sure Namor would have a shot in the right conditions.

Only heroes I can think of would be other members of Aquaman's family such as Aqualad or Mera. But they wouldn't beat him.

Mr freeze with a submarine, aqua lad and mera and black manta together. Then last my cat.

Mr freeze, superman, martian manhunter, maybe Wonder Woman, maybe batman with prep and if its a surprise attack, green lantern probably could do it too

GLs always showed some difficult to sustain their energy aura/constructs underwater, if they go to deep its stars to crack them became dizzy and stuff.

Depends on the depth of the water for some characters ... Powerhouses like the various Kryptonians, WW, Manhunter, Hulk etc... have a good shot of simply overpowering him quickly, but he gains the edge in deeper darker water where his abilities give him the edge in speed and visibility. Firestorm should be able to take him easily enough if he's using his brain. Potentially the Marvel crew of telekinetics/telepaths depending on the circumstances and assuming they could disrupt his fish communication.

Powerhouses like Wonder Woman, Superman, MMH, Shazam etc could probably do it.

@justthatkid: It depends on whether or not they fight smart. Wonder Woman would definitely be thinking strategically, and Superman can think smart when he wants to. Shazam would lose a slight majority though.

The big problem is getting around the trident. MMH can use intangiblility to avoid getting hit and Wonder Womans sword is a great counter, especially since she knows how to use it. But people who cant hide behind an indestructible weapon, or go intangible will have trouble. How do you think Superman would fair against it?

He has strength nearly equal to Superman, he can turn intangible to avoid letting water pressure slow him down if he doesn't feel like using his strength, and he has decades of combat wisdom that even Wonder Woman can't match.

But he has two aces in the hole. First, it has been shown that he can block Aquaman's telepathy with his own, thereby negating Aquaman's key talent at attacking J'onn with every carcharodon that still lives in the Marianis Trench. Second, J'onn's equalizing weakness is fire, but fire doesn't exist underwater (there are undersea volcanoes, but J'onn hasn't shown any particular vulnerability to the presence of active volcanoes so long as he manages to avoid entering their caldera).

If we want to consider ALL the DC heroes, then Aquaman would also fall to The Spectre, Doctor Fate, any of the Endless, and Swamp-Thing since even Atlanteans have internal flora.

Oh, and to the Powerpuff Girls, if Cartoon Network is correct.
