Dave King is an animation director, producer and writer.

Previously he worked with companies such as London Editions Magazines, D.C. Thomson & Co. and Marvel UK, writing and drawing strips including Rugrats, Dennis the Menace and Desperate Dan.

King worked extensively with Warner Bros. Worldwide Publishing, creating strips for Looney Tunes, Taz Mania, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Tiny Toon Adventures and Beetlejuice for DC Comics, Rizzoli Egmont and Newstand Publications, as well as providing scripts and art for their syndicated newspaper strips, Looney Tunes and Taz Mania.

King also wrote or drew other newspaper strips, including Ren & Stimpy and The Workers.

In 1995 King was co-art director on the music video ‘Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me’ for the band U2, featured in the film Batman Forever, which signalled a move away from comic books into animation for UK companies including Cosgrove Hall, Hot Animation, Collingwood O’Hare and Pepper’s Ghost Productions.

King was animation director of Cartoon Network UK’s first in-house production, VBirds, in 2002, and a scriptwriter on the channel's comedy quiz, Skatoony. He would go on to work with the BBC, MTV, Nickelodeon and Passion Pictures.

In 2010, King became associate professor in animation, at Volda University College in Norway. The following year he founded the animation company, Raindog Studios, and in 2012 co-founded the Norwegian Animation Centre.
