    Origin

    Reed Richards bio-engineered the Datavore as a dimensional probe to gather information about the Leviaverse. Reed engineered the Datavore so that no matter what it ingested, it could convert into fuel.

    Creation

    The Datavore was created by Mark Waid, Mike Wieringo, and Karl Kesel.

    Character Development

    When Mr. Shertzer came to visit the Fantastic Four as a client, they took him along on a trip into the Leviaverse. The group almost slammed their craft into the Datavore, and Reed noticed that the creatures swarming around the Datavore were killing it. Reed equipped the Datavore with a device to repel any further attacks from Leviote swarms, and the group made their way back out of the Leviaverse.
