Darth Revan is a Sith Lord from a time period 4,000 years prior to Star Wars: A New Hope. One of the most powerful Force users in history, his actions had lasting ramifications for the galaxy.
Revan was once a Jedi that was studying in the Jedi Academy on Dantooine.After the Mandalorians started their crusade, the Jedi had decided not to act while the entire Republic was being destroyed. The Republic then asked the Jedi for their support, but all they do is meditate on the situation. Then a small group of Jedi actually go agaisnt the Jedi Counsels orders and join the resistence. At the head of this was Revan along with his now new apprentice, Malak. It is thanks to these few Jedi that the Mandalorians were able to be destroyed in the last battle of Malachor V. It is after this that Revan then left into the Unknown Regions only to come back as the new Lord of the Sith. It is then when the Jedi sent a small squadron of Jedi to try to capture Revan but failed when Malak himself opened fire on his masters ship. This left Revan on the verge of death, from which Bastilla managed to save him from by sustyaining him with the Force. Revan was alive but his mind was destroyed. The Jedi Counsel then input a new persona in the Sith Lords head, one loyal to the Republic and the Jedi Council. The following sequence of events eventually lead to Revan finally finding out his true identity, and him defeating Malk and the Star Forge. The Star Forge is a giant space station/factory built by an ancient alien race called the Rakata. It is said that Revan then left once more into the Unknown Regions to fight what Krea called "The True Sith." He was never heard of again.
