Darkwing Duck Wants Some Alone Time But a New Threat Arises

Get ready for a brand new arc. If you've been curious about the Darkwing Duck, a new story begins here.

    The Good

I never watched the original Darkwing Duck animated series but having watched Ducktales, how could I not be interested in a Duck-superhero? The recent issues had D.W. dealing with multiple versions of himself. Now he's just looking for some alone time to recharge himself. What do you think the chances of that happening are? D.W. discovers that a new threat could come his way. Will he be able to defeat the evil Duckthulhu and will he survive working with one of his enemies?

If you're familiar with Darkwing Duck, this comic delivers the imagery and...fun you would want and expect. Ian Brill makes me want to track down the series and the art and colors here do the Disney property justice.

    The Bad

As the beginning of a new arc, obviously it needs to set up the new story. Is it wrong that I wanted to see more Darkwing Duck action. The threat of Duckthulhu does promise to deliver more. This book might not be for all readers but will definitely meet the approval of Darkwing Duck fans.

    The Verdict

There's something about seeing a duck in a mask, hat and cape. Having missed the Darkwing Duck series, I think it's great that I can catch new adventures and become familiar with the characters. Ian Brill does a great job bringing the animated hero to comics and James Silvani's art and Lisa Moore's colors do the property justice. Anything else would be unacceptable. It's a great book for fans of the show or for readers looking for some fun duck-action.
