So Zero Hour hits and Darkstar (Donna) Troy and her deputies, Mo and Carla, are preparing to join the battle to bring in renegade, Hal Jordan (now Parrallax). If only it were that easy, because on their way to Earth they're impeded by a creature called, Entropy. This "being" seeks to hasten the end of the Universe, starting with the Darkstars who suddenly find themselves aided by long since dead or retired heroes (a former Darkstar and the Green Lantern, Abin Sur, who originally bequethed Jordan his ring) thanks to Parrallax's mucking with time. Meanwhile, Colos is being excorted to his homeworld in disgrace by two Darkstars who can't stress enough that his dismissal was beyond wrong, but have to follow the law. New Darkstar John Stewart confronts Colos that he's going to help Colos regain his rank and that a Controler (one of the founders of the Darkstars), gave him the information to help. Back on the other side of the galaxy, Donna and her assosicates are trying to battle a seemingly omipotentent opponent and by sheer luck find success and Entropy his sent back to his proper time and place (or something). The issue ends with Donna joining the rest of the DC heroes while Mo and Carla anxiously wait to see if she and the others can stop Jordan. But the Darkstars and their Earth based HQ slowly disolve and four blank pages reveal that our reality has been erased.
So much happens in this issue that it stalls the story and the whole battle against Entropy seems like such a waste when it appears as though it never happened. Without reading ZERO HOUR a reader would be even more confused and would quickly loose interest in this issue. The Colos/Stewart story only takes a small step forward, but remains a key ingredient in DARKSTARS.
