Worshipped as the "God of Evil", Darkseid is the supreme monarch of planet Apokolips. Considered one of Superman's greatest adversaries and the greatest threat to the DC Universe, he seeks to control all living things with the Anti-Life Equation.

I haven't actually read JLA 2 yet, but did Darkseid appear in the issue or not? I also want to see how he looks drawn by Jim Lee.

Cannot think of anything worse than a Johns-penned Darkseid.

A Lee drawn one will be a treat though.

Jeph Loeb-penned Darkseid, old son.

Aside from Sinestro, Johns isn't one for intricate characterisation in his use of classic villains, but he always gives them good credit. It won't be Morrison, but it will be solid.

@entropy_aegis: Phantom advised me to avoid reading anything New Gods related from Byrne, and I admit I only read Apokolips Now out of sheer curiosity.

Byrne is the responsible for all the inconsistencies in Darkseid's character.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how he's drawn, since i love Jim Lee's art. Not sure how i'll react to Geoff's writing of him tho. Hope he treats him with respect.
