A question about Darkseid

Does he go out, out of Apokolips, and go and try and conquer other worlds? I heard that he does, because he wants to be the universal ruler of everything, and I also heard that no he doesn't. He just stays on Apokolips, ruling it, and doesn't leave unless it involves Superman. What is the truth?

That's a figgin good question. He moans and complains about The Anti-Life Equation, yet he sits on his fat ass like it's going to fall into his lap. His strength comes from his slaves which is a reason he does'nt leave Apokalypse, but when he wants Superman he has to stop what he's doing. That's the problem when you have too many writers dealing with characters they did not create. Somewhere along the line, someone screws up the many stories of that character.

Only on Sunday to buy groceries...

http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Anti-Life_Equation -- On there it says under OWNERS, that Darkseid is an owner of the Anti-Life Equation, and if you read it, it says that he did possess it and he did use it. I don't know about any of you, but a lot of this shit about Darkseid is confusing. He sits on his ass all day, not doing anything unless it involves Superman, and yet he gets the Anti-Life Equation, and now apparently, from what The Sadhu said, Darkseid DOES leave Apokolips. Shit is mad weird and confusing.

I believe he has a deal with the High Father of New Genesis so that he can not go around starting wars and invading planets.

Wait... what? Why would he do that? Darkseid does what he wants, when he wants. He doesn't care about anyone! His plans are to go and conquer New Genesis!

He can't just go out and conquer because for every move he makes, New Genesis makes a counter-move. If he were to invade a planet, the Highfather would immediately stand to its defense. New Genesis has military and other capabilities equal to Apokolips, and any all-out war between the two would result in mutual annihilation. This is why they agreed to this eternal cold war.
While Darkseid does go around the universe at times, making his schemes about superheroes and other beings, he is still careful not to draw New Genesis into a war no side can win, until he gains some leverage against them. This leverage is generally the anti-life equation.

i though the pact was just between new genesis and apokalypse?

i never once read it extended beyond their dimension.

as a matter of fact new genesis tends to not interfere with any battles concerning apokalypse...

@castleking: How many all out Apokolips battles (and not Darkseid vs superheroes or superheroes coming to Apokolips for some reason) can you name?

Also, Apokolips. Not Apokalypse.

dont limit my choices!!!!!!!!

besides where is a pact on panel stating the new gen ppl will interfere
#11 Posted by AtPhantom (14454 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago - Show Bio

Original New Gods. Darkseid is forced to conduct secret operations on Earth so as not to invoke Highfather's intervention.

Also, your choices are wrong.

and what about all the other times he has invaded earth and restructured reality? or when he chases supe and his cousin? where was the sky father then?

they only interfere when it suits them or can get away with it.
#13 Posted by AtPhantom (14454 posts) - 3 years, 3 months ago - Show Bio

Of course they do. We're talking about mutually assured destruction here. Would you risk it over some red cape wearing moron? All those times when Darkseid supposedly invaded Earth were just little skirmishes. If Apokolips really invaded Earth, Earth wouldn't still be here.

Also, Highfather, not sky father. :P

skirmishes the fool DS restructured reality with the warlogog and his love slave patsy metron........ not once did we see new genesis interfere

That was because
1. They came from a future where New Genesis was already destroyed.
2. Darkseid was already imprisoned in the Source wall at the time. He got there due to the actions in the Genesis event.

So, say for example, or rather hypthothetically speaking, Superman is called to Asgard by Thor or one of the other God's, or say rather like in Superman and the F4, say Hela gains control of Superman and makes him her slave to attack Thor, like Galactus made Superman his herald, and say Darkseid notices this and uses Superman being on Asgard fighting Thor as the perfect opportunity for him to invade Asgard. Say it's all of Apokolips he sends out to Asgard. Do you think New Genesis would interfere? Would New Genesis not believe that Asgard and the Gods have enough defense to counter Apokolips? With all of the Valkyries, and say Odin was still alive, do you think that New Genesis would just refrain from interfering for their own safety, or if not, to not bring in and cause any more destruction? I mean, New Genesis, Asgard, and Apokolips. That would be a hell of a war with a crap load of destruction and death.

He is obviously going to come back eventually even if it is in 800 years since he appears in Legion of Super-Heroes The Great Darkness saga.
