Good But Let Down In The End

Opening Statment: I Thought This Comic Well Writing & Was Put Together In A Logical But Let Down Way( Will Tell Why In Review )

The Let Down : In true comic book form, the first few pages of this issue revealed the last pages of the previous one were misleading. Daken’s attack on Osborn was a conjuring of event presented by the three Fates who have come to believe Daken will be one to bring about Ragnarok, which is essentially the end of the world in Norse mythology. Ragnarok is a cyclical event, the end of one world in favor of the rebirth of something new. The Fates explains that a man of Earth must catalyze this event and without it Asgard will cease to exist.

My Feelings On The Comic :

The only thing of any interest in this issue is simply the aftermath of what happened in the last issue (seen on the left). Worse yet, it’s quickly revealed that what happened last issue was a fiction. Filling the story with things that aren’t really happening only so that Daken can simply reject the Fates any way wastes the reader’s time. As the Fates were mysteriously introduced last issue and their apparent motives shared in this one, maybe less time could have been spent with illusions and more time helping the reader why Daken, out of all his blood thirty and formidable compatriots, is their chosen one.

     What I Would Change:
It would have been far better to pit Daken against Thor and Maria Hill after having been fried (seen above), providing an opportunity for the reader to enjoy a serious pairing as well the action this issue lacks. As a tie-in to the “Siege” too many things are going on in the surroundings to be focused on, what is essentially, behind the scenes action. Everything should advance the story, everything should enrich it in someway and not merely the lay the groundwork for advancing the story later. If the Fates desire to see Daken become their agent of Ragnarok, their efforts either need to be successful within the issue or take up far less of it.
