    A good begnning

Concrete: Intersection by Paul Chadwick - It´s amazing being able to see this character again, so human, yet stuck in a monster´s body, and this is the idea and concept of this short story: about doing regular stuff, like walking his dog, worrying about his baby born and about his marital problems - the way that Paul interwines this common, regular life with the justice type, scout boy thing, is very well done, making this story interesting, funny, elaborated and with awesome art and colors! 5 out 5
Marked Man Chapter 1 by Howard Chaykin (W/A), Jesus Aburto (C) and Ken Bruzenak (L) - I´m not a big fan of Chaykin´s art, but impressively I´ve enjoyed a lot this story about a gangster trying to cope with his naggin´wife and balancing the criminal life with the family one, what will prove to be an impossible task - this story was a great mix of action, interesting dialogues, great colors, even the art was good, I think it´s a great aproach of the genre cops/bad guys thing, like Sopranos (they´re not from the mafia though) - this is an ongoing story, so things will develop in the next issue, showing the characters´ evolution. 4 out 5
Blood Chapter 1 by Neal Adams (W/A) and Moose (C) - In another tale of crime vs cops this has a secret ingredient that´s the sci fi behind the story, what was a great and weird twist at the same time, making me curious about the next chapter - this is about a group of criminals trying to kill a cop that goes by the name of Jorge Maslow, so they kidnap a friend of his (Lionel) that, after getting beated a lot, doesn´t stop saying about how dangerous Jorge is when he becomes Blood - interesting concept, good art and dialogues, hope it continues to be good. 4 out 5
Finder: Third World Chapter 1 by Carla Speed McNeil (W/A) ans Jan Manley Lee/Bill Mudron (C) - Though this presented at first as an interesting and conceptual story, about a guy who´s tired of being into jobs that demands him getting his hands dirty, the execution of the idea failed to deliver this great idea, also the art sequence doesn´t make much sense - hope next chapter will be more interesting and rational. 3.5 out 5
Mr. Monster Vs Oooak! by Michael T. Gilbert - This is an insanely display of how comics can be funny, sarcastic, intelligent and yet bring it up the theme of super hero - this artist is crazy and all this is reflected in this amazing story about a super hero that´s all talk, a scientist that has a bravado (It was just a theory) and the pretty gal who, among the good citizens of New York, are on the verge of being stomped and dominated by a giant Oak, a giant alien who´s come to Earth to conquer it - laugh a lot reading this issue, great dialogues and super art! 5 out 5
Murky World Chapter 1 by Richard Corben (w/A) and Clem Robins - In a B/W tale of necromancer, deadlings and a post apocalypse world, Corben shows a story about a nomad who finds a partnership with a strayed woman looking for her twin sister - this was just ok, nothing extraordinare. 3 out 5
Star Wars: Crimson Empire III - "The Third Time Pays for All" by Randy Stradley (W), Paul Gulacy (A), Michael Bartolo (C) and Michael Heisler (L) - Though I´m a big fan of Star Wars and it was awesome seeing Luke and Leia again, this story was just a promotion, an advertisement for the upcoming series in october with the same tittle, so this felt like just a sale boost attempt and since I haven´t read Crimson Empire I and II, I don´t know the characters and their motivations, but the art and the story were pretty decent. 3.5 out 5
Snow Angel by David Chelsea - This is a very childish and ludic story about a little girl that can transform into a snow angel, making tricks and enjoying the winter with games, that´s pretty much it. 3 out 5

Overall this was a solid first issue, showing interesting material and I highly recommend it! 4 out 5
