    Closure

What I love about anthologies are that the stories are pretty self contained.  The Anthology normally has some sort of them, in this case its the loose meaning of "Happy Endings".  Dark Horse has tried these little anthologies a few times.  Besides this the Noir anthology is my favorite they did.

Sam Kieth gets the lead story, ''Happy Endings''.  This was why I purchased this book.  I enjoyed his The Maxx series and I didn't like the taste book 6 left in my month.... so I was hoping this would substitute as a better ending and I feel it does. ''Only In ...''  - Written by Brian Michael Bendis, is a fun little story, but I still don't like Bendis.  Written and Illustrated by  Bernie Mireault
'' The Cat'', is a funny story about a person who doesn't know who he is and a Cat who thinks the man is rich.

''The Magician and the Snake''  - Written by Kate and Mike Mignola, is the best story in the book. It is surprising a young Kate Mignola could help create such a meaningful story about life and love.

''Barnyard Animals''  - Written and Illustrated by Craig Thompson was okay, His OGN Blanket highlights the good writer he is. Grrl Scouts in '' Just Another Day''   - Written and Illustrated by Jim Mahfood, is tripping and is a story about three girls who's lives weave between each other.

''Happy Ending''  - Written and Illustrated by Farel Dalrymple, ''Krishna's Girlfriend''  - Written and Illustrated by James Kochalka maybe be my least two fave stories.  Happy Ending is okay, with its theme of the classic cowboy ending, but it was weak to me.  While I didn't care for Krishna's Girlfriend at all.

''Wild Blue Yonder''  -  Written and Illustrated by Peter Kuper wrote a story I assume is based on fact.  It was interesting and its Kuper so its respectible.

''January''  - Written by Jason Hall and Illustrated Matt Kindt (story by Hall and Kindt)... The Pistolwhip team wrote a short crime story I didn't expect at all.

''Paper Airplanes''  - Written and Illustrated by Leland Myrick & ''Sock Monkey''  - Written and Illustrated by Tony Millionaire  are about the little wins in life.  Fun kids stories, stories about youth.

''The Way It's Going''  - Written and Illustrated by Harvey Pekar, Classic Pekar... The pressures of life of a man who has found his Happy Ending.  This story belongs as part of his autobiographical American Splendor series.

''The End''  -  Written and Illustrated Frank Miller. This was a weak story... I have to say... It maybe the pressure knowing that guys who got big in the 80s and 90s like him, are more respected then he is.  He lost his touch.  Sure Sin City and 300 are respected.  But when people talk about the Greats its Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Neil Gaiman.... or now writers like Warren Ellis and Brian K. Vaughn.  No one talks about Miller and this story is an example that only he understands himself now.

This overall was a fun read.  It was a positive experience.  I did find a lot of Happy Endings and closure here.

    Cheers
