The only chink I can really see in this team is Skaar, who may be too ignorant to realize he's playing for the wrong team on this new Dark Avengers team. Great stuff though!
Dark Avengers
Team » Dark Avengers appears in 445 issues.
Originally an idea concocted by Norman Osborn, the "Dark Avengers" were Osborn's own personal counterpart to the Avengers. The team has since become independent from Osborn's visions and mad quest for power.
Off My Mind: How Osborn's New Dark Avengers Team Avoids Past Mistakes [Spoilers]
You know, these stories would feel less cyclical if Marvel stopped putting Osborne in jail. That seems to be their M.O.: at the end of the arc, the bad guys get wasted or caught and put in jail and x-amount of time later they get out and start causing trouble again. Whereas DC has no problem letting the heroes kind of lose, kind of win. Batman might stop the Joker, but that doesn't necessarily mean he catches him every time. Out of all the villains in the Marvel U, I'd like Osborne and his super genius whacked out brain to have a chance to be out and about and wreaking havoc without necessarily being tied into some EVENT.
I think Skaar is likely to turn on Osborn early on. Kinda like Marvel boy/Protecter, he's not that bad and will probably disagree with Norman once he gets to know him.
There was no past mistakes.Whatever happened to Norman in Siege was supposed to happen.He's lucky that this time he won't have to deal with Thor as powerful as he's gotten.I think making a new team right now is a mistake. It made sense before when he had the Sentry on his side and he was in charge making the superheroes criminals. Now he has to deal with 3 Avengers teams. The only way I see him being a threat now with his new Avengers is if he's able to join forces with the Worthy.His team may seem more powerful than the Core Avengers but the the New and Secret Avengers aren't going to let them get wiped out. Which means the joined forces of Red Hulk,Iron Man,War Machine,Valkyrie,Ms.Marvel,etc.
Didn't know Gorgan had come back from being turned to stone and shattered. Still he was a pretty cool villain there so that's a plus. Still on the whole this seems a weaker team, I expect it'll all blow up in Osborn's face again. And will the public be fooled a second time, or is Osborn going to attempt to discredit the current Avengers cast?

I kinda like the older "flawed" roster.
Yeah me too.
although Skaar is a cool addition,too bad Daken didn't manage to recruit him.
@Vermillo i agree with you but altho Osborn was cool as the GG i kinda always thought of him as a poor excuse for Lex Luthor/ The joker rolled into one at the same time as well but even though im just now catching up when i first saw the whole Seige thing i thought the same thing as well i mean he's a poor excuse for a Luthor attempt if ive ever saw
You gotta be kidding me! The Gorgon dressing up as Dark Wolverine? What kind of an idea is that? Really?
On the other hand, what makes Norman think he can win this time? I gotta admit he's bad$$ and never gives up since the last Seige defeat. But seriously, he should try different super-villains or baddies that doesn't match their Avengers counterparts. Just because they are Dark Avengers doesn't mean these people should be picked just by their similar abilities of the original Avengers.
@thatlad: Speaking of that .When is Phobos going to make his return. His death was foreshadowed but can you really kill a god? Phobos was told by Ares that he wouldn't come into his full power until he died.
I really want to see Norman do something terrible and have Spiderman lose it and beat him to death.. or to a point where he is forced out of the spotlight.
But I really think this team is gonna get beat down rather fast in comparison to the last team and break up. Still, Id like to see Spidey causing it by taking out Osborn.
I'll like to see more of ''Gobbie'' please cause... seriously there's one bit of a chance this dark avengers second rooster might be cool but i prefer normie as the crazy psycho Green Goblin.

Why on earth would Gorgon join this team?
Yeah, I've got to say Gorgon can do better...but I love the idea of him on the dark avengers team. He's really the only new recruit I like and even that's tainted by the fact he's dressed up like Daken. I've never even heard of Toxic Doxie before....I imagine that this Dark Avengers team has been set up specifically to look stupid. I loved the original Dark Avengers though
<-------------Is tired of Bendis reusing the same villains over and over again.... -__-
First it was running The Hood into the ground, now it's Osborn...

What's the difference between this guy and the Grey Gargoyle? Can't they think of any original superpowers for villains any more? Do we really need more than one villain who can turn people to stone?
Meh, these are for the most part relatively new characters, especially the Decapitator. Even Barney Barton and Superia were minor characters who only recently returned from the dead after decades of nothing. This team doesn't have that feel of classic baddies that the first Dark Avengers had.
To call the Gorgon the same thing as the Grey Gargoyle is to call Picasso an amateur painter.@NightwalkerRevan said:

Gorgon mostly uses the stone stare as the coup de grace in fights. He's stronger, faster, and more skilled than Wolverine, has a healing factor, telepathy, and is a super genius. He irrefutably proved the existence of God at age 13. Also, Gargoyle (before becoming one of the Worthy) had to make physical contact in order to turn people to stone, and it lasted for one hour. The Gorgon is capable of doing it by making eye contact, and the effect is irreversible. Just because one of their powers is similar, it doesn't mean they are one and the same.

Gorgon is more skilled than Logan?
@Morpheus_ said:
@entropy_aegis: Logan seems to think so.
Logan's wrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooong.
Expectations for Gorgon seem to be very high,Bendis better not screw up.
@Morpheus_ said:
@entropy_aegis: He has experience with the character since he was involved in the storyline that resurrected him in Secret Warriors, but he also had Hickman there.
So what would be your reaction if Grgon jobs?
@Morpheus_ said:
@entropy_aegis: He would be neither the first, nor the last of my favourites to get jobbed, lol.
Aha,so you're not getting your hopes up are you?
Granted I don't know all the details of this issue (though I did read some of it), I don't see the point of Norman assembling another team of Dark Avengers. Outside it's original premiss, as a government sanctioned team of "heroes", this just doesn't work imo.
What's the point of Osborn having villains cosplaying as heroes when they are clearly the bad guys this time around?
Another thing, why would Skaar follow Osborn so easily? What does he care about changing the world? Even though I thought he got over his daddy issues how does that matter here? It's not like he's going to face his dad here...maybe he'll face Rulk though. And are we sure that's Gorgon posing as Wolverine? I thought he just part of Osborns new "Cabal".
IMO bringing back the Dark Avengers, heck bringing back Osborn in this manner just feels like a "it worked the first time" move by Bendis/Marvel, a cheap move to catch sales....and to counter Justice League.
It's a shame, after all the fine work Bendis did with Osborn the first time around, which just goes to show you u can't leave a character in Bendis hands for too long. Like Sentry and Noh-Varr.

@entropy_aegis said:Pretty much. But I think Bendis will give him credit, at least initially.@Morpheus_ said:

Wise policy.
They seem like fit replacements... well except for Doxie. Anyway, he's back and ready to wreak havoc... and fail--again. Dundundun

I'll admit that this lineup serves as good counterpoints to the Avengers and could be good villains, but I'm just so done with Bendis at this point. When I saw who he had on this lineup I realized he's a guy who just uses whatever he currently finds to be fun and whatever is hot at the moment, which can be fun if occasionally done, but he's done it so many times that his stories just seem like fanfiction at this point.
Hell, they are fanfiction at this point. I will forever stand by my statement that he and Geoff Johns are the same writer in different bodies. But that's a topic for another day. My reaction to this whole thing (and all of Bendis' Avengers work of the past 4/5 years)...YAWN.
I know exactly what you mean, the avengers has for a year now been the book that I borrow from a friend instead of buying myself. I feel very tired of Bendis. both the avengers books, Moon knight and Ultimate Spider-man are all books that I used to like but now have lost interest in.
@JonesDeini: I was just talking about this with my friend the other day and you as well at some time as we've had many discussions about this. Bendis and John's have reached that status where a head corporate job, movies, cartoons, video games etc. make them boring writers now. They just recycle all the work they have done and it's the same thing over and over again.
Osborn is just one of those guys, lands in dog sh*t comes out smelling like a rose. I can't wait for the series.
Am I the only one who thinks that this feels like one of those games where you have to recreate a superhero team without using any of the original members, but choosing characters who fill the same positions? The original Dark Avengers felt a bit like that, but then this team feels like a more desperate attempt. It's also a bit like when kids are choosing teams for a football (soccer, to Americans) game, and all that's left are the fat kids and the nerds... Personally, I'd rather see a new incarnation of the Dark X-men; they were cool, and didn't get nearly the amount of face-time they deserved.
