I did not even pick up that NO wasn't on the field. Guess i'll have to reread it!

I just figured the suit was really really big on the inside.

This issue was pretty cool. Bullseye taking out Morgan was badass. Also, nice catch with Osborn not being in the suit.

#3 Posted by Erik (33329 posts) - - Show Bio

Norman is in the suit. That is how they do Iron Man as well.

#4 Posted by G-Man (36811 posts) - - Show Bio

They've sort of shown Stark in a similar situation.  I didn't follow all the extremis issues so I couldn't tell if in some issues he also was controlling the Iron Man suit from afar.  It does seem perfect for Norman to not want to get his 'hands dirty.'  I was surprised when he decided to take on the Iron Patriot identity.  He is a sneaky guy.

#5 Posted by pixelized (62882 posts) - - Show Bio

Plus, he has to juggle 3 teams, guess it's his way of being everywhere at once.

#6 Posted by Midnightist (10858 posts) - - Show Bio

You seeing It I think he could be some where else piloting the suit but even if he isn't I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was just being a douche and remote controlling it really wouldn't but I'm starting to love this series more and more because its like Watchmen or Wanted they look like the classic grew up with heroes but they are really just the opposite and I love that feeling I get from knowing they are not what others think. I can't wait for the internal conflict cause no matter what Norman said he has a team thats part psycho part villain part hero and thats just crazy right there it is no doubt.

You may be right, but I think it would be alot cooler if he's actually safe an sound while the suit does all the work.
#8 Posted by Erik (33329 posts) - - Show Bio

I think that would be really awesome as well. But why would he be sitting at his computer all naked?

LMAO thats what I said, But to be honest, I do it all the time. Now try to get that mental image outta your head.

Lol.

Nice review Babs! :D

#12 Posted by Jean_Luc_LeBeau (84704 posts) - - Show Bio

So does anyone else thing the Sentry's wife is dead? That dude is weak in my opinion. Why they ever brought him back is beyond me, but hopefully they kill him off. To bad he's not in the Ultimate U

#13 Posted by Erik (33329 posts) - - Show Bio

I do not think she is dead. I think she was pretending to be asleep because she is afraid of him.

#14 Edited by pixelized (62882 posts) - - Show Bio

her neck looked broken though, or maybe she was just sleeping in a funky angle.

I had no idea what was going on with her.

#15 Posted by Mr. Wilson (6322 posts) - - Show Bio

Nice review but Osborn is in the armor.  I love this book as well.  Keep the reviews coming.

Neither would I.

If you guys don't agree with me, then lets see your take on it. I didn't realize that that was how they drew IRONMAN as well.

#17 Posted by Mr. Wilson (6322 posts) - - Show Bio

Yeah.  I you hadn't read Iron Man that would probably confuse you.  His Extremist tech lets him look like he is in a room and that is why they draw him like that.

#18 Posted by DMC (1551 posts) - - Show Bio

It would be pretty cool if your theory came to pass but I doubt that Osborn is controlling the suit from far away, I think that's just Marvel's portrayal of what's going on in the armor, Mark Silvestri did the same thing in Avengers: THE INITIATIVE #1. Yet now-a-days in the Iron Man books, there's a more realistic portrayal of Tony in the armor, similar to the movie.

I love what Bendis has done explaining the Sentry's character. The theory (Bendis has developed) that Bobbies' isolation from humanity, his inability to behave like a human and peoples (or the superhuman communities) growing fear of him has created this Void is pretty sick. In contrast to Superman who can do both (which I have no problem with) Having a wife just isn't enough i guess, or maybe she's not the one for him, she is pretty scared of him. So is the Void real, an actual, negative reaction to his behavior/powers, or is it all in his head? Either way he needs to eat more food, and take a bath.

This was a problem I had in the beginning of Mighty Avengers when Tony Stark was "dude looks like a lady" and became the female Ultron. Lindy died.  But then she was back.  I thought she was a Skrull trying to control Bob.  But she has had "talking" scenes since.

Didn't he bring her back or something? I thought I read somewhere that he could do that (not sure how). The scenes with Osborn talking to Sentry lead me to believe she's dead and Sentry just leaves her dead body on the bed like the freak he is.

@Deadpool now its showing up. Guess Norman is inside the suit. Thats a shame.
#28 Posted by G-Man (36811 posts) - - Show Bio

He still might not be in it.

#29 Posted by Erik (33329 posts) - - Show Bio

I just pulled a comic at random and got a showing of Stark inside the armor right on the first page. Civil War: The Initiative. I could not find a scan of it though.

#30 Posted by High Revolutionary (3166 posts) - - Show Bio

Whow, this totally isn't the Boney Babs I thought.  This one is way cuter.

i love morgan le fae too.

but it sucks that norman osborne seems to have tossed aside his Green Goblin identity and it dosen't seem fair to me that he's living it up playing supervillain while his son is dead

Its a possibility but the Iron Man suits do have that function now.

Norman is indeed in the suit. Stark does the same thing allll the time.

#36 Posted by themaskedhero (264 posts) - - Show Bio

Yeah, as much as it doesn't make a lot of sense what exactly is going on, I've always believe Tony was in the suit and the "computer room" was a visual prop.

I think the one thing this review needed was the fact that Ares got turned to stone. That and Sentry "dying" in #2 wouldn't make sense being that Osborn then is in a flashback talking to him. Bendis might not be that stupid.
#37 Posted by DMC (1551 posts) - - Show Bio

ok so that first scan by Mr. Wilson was the last page of the issue, he's in Avengers Tower. What I'm talkin about is on the 1st page spread

#38 Posted by G-Man (36811 posts) - - Show Bio

Maybe Stark just uses some Pym Particles and makes himself really small.

That image is just him floating around in the helmet.  It always bothered me when it's shown like that.  The helmet isn't much bigger than his face.  He wouldn't have such a huge display inside.  Besides, his eyeballs are right up to the eye slits.  It's just all fishy to me.

Good book and great artwork. I to was wondering why after reading dark avengers i had the sudden urge to watch the fugitive and "no country for old men" and even "black moon rising" he does look ,ike tommy lee jones. I like what bendis is doing with sentry and the way norman is playing him..Kind of wish dc dis somthing like this with JLA. Why is lindy always sleeping is she really dead?

#41 Posted by pixelized (62882 posts) - - Show Bio

Maybe she just pretends to be asleep to get away from her husband.

Saw it explained somewhere. It's just a virtual thing he set up so he can look at everything and control it better (but also so it's more visually interesting for the reader and to better show all the things he can do at once).

IDK man.....I just don't think this it's suppose to be taken literally....cause we've seen plenty of times when Stark was using Extermis he could break apart the external armor instantly, that would have to be a pretty quick growth transforma......................................................................................................

...............OMG I just realized that Osborn is using Extermis armor and he's pretty much a cyborg.......HOLY CRAP

I mean I knew before but now it's aaaalllllll sinking in..........man I'm slow.

Nice arguments you guys. I guess I totally missed that...however I AM good for something...spark discussion.

I still think it would have been cooler if Norman was not physically in the suit..I really wouldn't put that past his character!

#46 Posted by EvLJEsT (138 posts) - - Show Bio

It's what  the view from inside the suit is like, ive seen Stark many of times to be seen like this. Normie is kickin ass and checking his facebook at the same time

#47 Posted by Giuseppe Riccadonna (2071 posts) - - Show Bio

About Sentry wife, she is  pretending to be asleep. Did no one notice her in horror when Norman and Sentry left the room?

#48 Posted by defunkt (63 posts) - - Show Bio

Haha I really want to get my mom to read Dark Avengers. She kind of has a Tommy Lee Jones obsession. I always hear Tommy's voice when Norman is talking even though Norman isn't from Texas.

Here's another image of Stark inside his armor. Guess I was wrong as well. I still think it would have been badass had Osborn not been inside.

My mistake. :( Thanks for the scan though,  it would have been cool if N.O. wasn't in the suit. Still...maybe Bendis will see this and agree with me? LOL.
