Into the Mouth of Madness
In a weak narrative, where Victoria Hand steals the scene, the only thing decent about this issue, except for the extaordinary art of Mike Deodato, is the fact that Bendis pushed the envelope about Sentry, making him one of the most - if not the most - powerful being in the Marvel Universe. But deity comes with a price, and in an already disturbed mind, the effects in Bob Reynolds fragile psyche maybe will prove to be harder than he can handle. Speaking about disturbed minds, finaly Norman is starting to crack, showing more signs that the pills aren´t working and the Goblin is taking over: can a isolated man, struggling against himself, impose his way of thinking to the rest of the world and protect the USA as promised? The fact is that the thin line that holded this team together is disapearing in a mist of broken dreams and shattered hope, that not even Hand´s efforts will prove to be effective. Nice job to Mike Deodato who was able to capture the fear in Molecule Man, the total despair in Osborn´s face, the horriplant void in Sentry´s eyes as he faces imortality and tastes the power of being god. The highlight was Owen Reese and his imaginary friends faces as he stripped Victoria Hand´s clothes. I only recommend this issue for those who are following Dark Avengers.
