I realize that someone did a similar thread to this about Spider-Man so I figured that I should start one about my 2nd fav Marvel superhero, Daredevil. Batman would be the obvious choice, so I'm excluding him. So...Who else?
Daredevil
Character » Daredevil appears in 4762 issues.
As a child, Matt Murdock was blinded by radioactive waste while trying to save an elderly stranger about to get hit by a truck carrying the dangerous material. In turn, his other senses were heightened to superhuman sharpness and he gained a form of "radar sense". By day, he is a successful trial lawyer; but by night, he guards Hell's Kitchen as Daredevil: the Man Without Fear.
Who is DC's Daredevil? (Not including Batman)
Green Lanterns are chosen based on their lack of fear which is the opposite of willpower, a Green Lantern's source of power.
Therefore, I would say the concept of Daredevil, "the man without fear," would closely mirror the concept of the Green Lantern Corps.
Based on the character's abilities however, I would say Nightwing. They're both acrobats sportin' escrima sticks.
Meaning?@Vance Astro:
Nightwing feels a little too tongue in cheek for DD.
I don't think he's less serious I just think he's less hardcore, sometimes DD is bordering on the same mentality of the Punisher but he always catches himself before he goes to far. I think it's just a difference in how they were raised and trained. Matt is more willing to cross certain lines than Nightwing.@Vance Astro:
he seems less serious than Daredevil, I mean.

Yeah Nightwing makes sense but I reeeeaaalllyyy like your G.L. reasoning. I hadn't even thought of that. Nice thinking outside the box.

Thanks man! I appreciate the props. Yeah, I had that idea floating in my head for a while and even made a DC Universe Online character named "Hal Murdock." He's a Green Lantern who looks like Daredevil and uses two-handed weapons (specifically for the batons or escrimas.) He also uses acrobatics instead of flight like a typical Green Lantern would. I got the idea after reading Blackest Night: Green Lantern and seeing Scarecrow deputized as a Yellow Lantern.
I always thought that would be a cool concept for DC or Marvel to work with if they ever did another amalgamation crossover event. Green Lantern was mixed with Iron Man before to create Iron Lantern. I thought that was pretty cool, but I would have liked Green Lantern's mix to be more thematic (kind of like Doctor Fate and Doctor Strange = Dr. Strangefate.) So in that aspect I thought Daredevil would've been perfect.
The Question (Vic) x3......x5? Throw in Wildcat (Ted)? And Ted Kord for the high flying acrobatics.......
O.K. Nightwing :/

But in General Green Lantern has a faith in the system. Even though it is weaken doing his team up with Green Arrow. He still believes in the system. Matt Murdock is Daredevil because he knows the system will sometimes fail and not always do the right thing. In that sense they are very different.
Nah Nightwing is not much of a Badass compared to DD.
Makes sense.
Personally, I would say Batman is the clear DC Daredevil. I mean they use symbols of fear, mostly take down crimelords but do have fights with higher powered threats, have extreme acrobatic and martial arts prowess, ninjas background, etc...But you asked for no Batman. So no Batman.
Dr Mid-Nite is a good contender, but I'd like to say Green Arrow as a possible one. Men of wealth and culture, ladies men, swashbuckling/super gritty in some incarnations. That's about it I guess? I'm more of a MARVEL guy, my DC doesn't go to deep. The TV shows for them are pretty similar to.
You know who else is good? Huntress! Sure, Huntress has killed, sure, she has an origin far more similar to the Punisher, but you know what? They both incorporate Catholicism into their personas as they fight mobsters.

I like this.
Dr Mid Nite. Both lost their sight while trying to save someones life, they both fight the mob(Daredevil fights Kingpin while Mid Nite fights Sal Maroni). They both use gas to blind their enemies, and they also use batons to fight their enemies.Nightwing is way too diffrent from Daredevil, the only simillarity that i see between them is that they are both night stalkers that fight the mob(while current Nightwing rarely fights the mob).
