Marvel's Daredavil series season 1 has just wrapped up and though it close out its main story-lines, it has left the door open for future storylines to be exploited in future seasons (assuming there's a season 2 on the way). And what potential storylines can we expect. So let's talk about those. Beware spoilers from season 1.

- Owlsley mentioned a son several times during the show. Now that he's dad, will said son be the one to become the villain known as the Owl and seek retaliation against Fisk for his father's death?

- Karen has still not told anyone about killing Wesley, and it's something that's been bothering her for a while. How will that impact her relationship with Matt and Foggy?

- Though a close friendship between Foggy and Karen has been established, it was implied that Karen has feelings for Matt. Does he return those feelings?

- Ben Urich mentioned that Karen has a questionable past, though there was no mention of it later on. What could that be? It was implied once in the show that Karen used to do drugs.

- Madame Gao has left for somewhere "farther than China". So what is she all about? Where will this lead?

- It was implied that Nobu is a member of a secret organisatoin most likely The Hand. What exactly is the Black Sky they've been smuggling? Who will replace Nobu? And what is this war Stick and Stone mentioned and how does Matt figure into it?

- Where will Vanessa go from here? Will she attempt to free Fisk herself or will she wait in Europe before he inevitably finds a way out?

- Now that Fisk is publicly outed, how does that impact his title as the Kingpin (a title he has not earned yet)?

- One of my most heart breaking moments in this show was Ben Urich's murder. That took me off guard, considering how big of an ally he is to Matt in the comics, and it was so sad to see the way he was killed off. Will there be more follow up?

- With the heavy focus on Matt's morality and after a recent interview with Cox, I expect the Punisher to appear in the show soon, as a way to contrast the killing/no killing aspect of the character. In an interview, it was mentioned that Matt is one bad day away from becoming the Punisher, so it'll be interesting how they explore that.

- I expect Bulleye and Elektra to appear in the next season.

I assuming that Owlsley's son would be the one to become the Owl.

I've heard that the symbol used on Madame Gao's drugs is linked to Iron Fist so I assume she'll be a antagonist in that series.

I expect that Nobu is a member of the hand and that the war mentioned is also something to do with the hand.

I think the hand will be the main antagonists in series 2 which of course will I believe will introduce both Bullseye and Elektra

Madame Gao is probably from K'un Lun and her link to Steel Serpent means she could be Crane Mother. I think The Hand are building Shadowland and that Black Sky is a demon in a human host, which would explain Nobu's comment about the rarity of a Black Sky, as I'm assuming its difficult to find a compatible host. That story will probably lead into the defenders.

• Madame Gao - Probably Crane Mother in my opinion, I'm a pretty big fan of Iron Fist, and that's the only character I can think of that she could be that is so related to SS.
• I think we're getting Elektra next season.
• Karen did porn maybe?
  
• I'm not even sure that Nobu is dead dead.
• Urich's probably dead dead though, I want him to live, but not at the expense of the show's quality.

Remember this is a show based on a comic and nobody stays dead in the comics if they do not want them to. Just look at the shield agent. Would love to see visits by Captain America and Spiderman for starters , maybe get some really great fight scenes and some speech about being a prime example for kids by Steve to Mat. However being a soldier Steve has killed many times in war. So his words may impart something more to him then anybody else ever could. He is a great leader after all and that is why they have him lead the Avengers. The punisher would be nice to see in contrast to Captain America but deadly and effective. The one holds back while the other just takes down bad guys.

It seems like all your guesses may be true about Madame Gao, though personally I have no idea who Crane Mother is (not very knowledgeable about Iron Fist).

They said that Nobu had many names, and when he apparently died, his "organization" didn't seem to be disturbed too much. Maybe he is in fact Kirigi? In the comics, he is one of the top Hand Assassins, and in the stories, he can be returned e very time he is killed. So, Nobu may return. Also, maybe, if someone said, the Black Sky child is actually the host for the BEAST of the Hand, the one the Hand serves and the one that possessed Matt in Shadowland? It's safe to assume that the Hand is going to be the main villain in DD's next arc, either in his own show or in Defenders.

In the flashback, Foggy mentioned that Matt is attracted to a "greek" girl, who is most likely Elektra.

Urich probably won't be back. He's dead dead. And it's heartbreaking.

Yeah, but I doubt that they will be as lenien as in the comics when it comes to bringing back characters. With that said, Nobu/Kirigi may come back, but I don't think Ben. I doubt Chris Evans will appear as Cap in this show, they'll mention him maybe. If they're going to contrast Matt with someone, it will most likely be Punisher.

I found it odd they made such a big deal on body armor and his right hand man wore none. That was more then a little odd so he has to be a mutant or something. It would be the only answer with so many wanting a peace of Fisk and he was the mouth peace for him. I am sure it would not be the first person to take a shot at him.

I think Ben will be back. That is all. Or at least another news reporter with the same name by coincident.

Ben is definitely dead guys

Yeah, like the rest of the MCU, dead characters stay dead so I doubt Ben will return. However, it's a shame the production didn't take place after Spidey returned to Marvel, because the Bulletin could have been given its actual name of the Daily Bugle, and Urich could have been given more roles to play in a crossover with everyone's favourite webhead.

Since we reckon Nobu was part of the Hand, if they become Season 2's antagonists (Season 2 already confirmed btw), then Stick and Stone would be the Chaste, a group who oppose the Hand, and I bet this will tie Matt into a 'the enemy of the enemy is a friend' situation given his tenuous relationship with Stick and thus form a temporary alliance against a common foe.

I doubt Karen would inform Matt or Foggy of Wesley's death, but then Fisk has the resources to find out who killed him, so that could go either way.

Speaking of Fisk, given his end-of-season realisation that he isn't the Good Samaritan but in fact the ill intent, and his white prison uniform, he will now become the Kingpin we know. I think it's beyond doubt that he will be broken out again, maybe next season, maybe in the Defenders, but he won't be the deluded wannabe philanthropist we see and almost sympathise with in season 1.

I think things that we can be much more certain of is that Leland's son will be the Owl, Gao is most likely the Crane Mother and that the Greek girl Matt used to date is Elektra, plus the sniper Fisk hired is Bullseye. Maybe we will see signs of another vigilante like Punisher, but I doubt it will be Spider-Man given his rumoured appearance in Civil War and his own 2nd reboot in 2018/2019? I can't remember, and I even more highly doubt any appearances from the Avengers, given their agenda is pretty full between Age of Ultron and Infinity War, but I'll eat my shoe if the defenders don't appear in Infinity War, with maybe a cheeky DD cameo in Civil War (will we get the snarky 'Thanks, Judas' line from Matt to Tony?)

@anjales: the character Nobu is named after Kagenobu Yoshioka and Madam Gao hints to Fisk that the Hand will revive him

The Hand are the most likely enemy for Season 2, especially with how Gao told Fisk that Nobu's clan (we're all guessing the Hand) are currently busy with their own agenda but will eventually turn to face the death of Nobu; which, as far as the Hand are concerned, was the result of his fight with Daredevil.

Bullseye and Elektra would need to be handled very carefully in my opinion. With the movie way back when, I think that most people will associate those two with the failure that Hollywood created. I mean, I found it hard making certain friends watch the epicness that was this TV Show just because of Ben Afleck. If either were to be brought in next season, I'd hope they go with Bullseye. Daredevil will have certainly met a foe that can not only hurt him but can also match him in fighting prowess.

I also hope that for the next season, Daredevil is experienced in the art of defeating a goon. I understand that this season was effectively his Origin, but the time it took him to defeat certain goons and the damage he took was just far from his comic counterpart.

Cox has also expressed his longing to appear in Civil War. If this were to happen, maybe just maybe, we could get the budding friendship that would be himself and Peter Parker? That would be brilliant.

Are you counting Coulson as part of the MCU?

I was really bummed that Urich was killed. I kinda feel it was unnecessary. He's such a pretty big character in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure that the Hand will be in the next season and that means we are gonna see Elektra.

I feel it's stupid that Karen has not told anyone about killing Wesley! This is going to lead to obvious break down of the character in a unnecessary way that is totally avoidable.

The one character I'm puzzled over is Vanessa. She is a real driving force in Fisk's life but I don't see what they are going to do with her character. I like her a lot but I don't know if or why she would play a major role in the continued story. It would be awesome if it turned out she was a double agent working for the Hand sent in to infiltrate Fisk's organization and that is another reason why Gao wanted her dead!

@arinya: As far as the movies are concerned, Coulson is dead, and will remain dead. Whedon has said that he is only alive in the TV show and he will remain as such. So yeah, Coulson is an odd example but characters by and large stay dead.

@arinya: The Wesley thing will probably be dealt with next season, along with Karen's mysterious past. I'd hardly say that leads to a breakdown in her character.

Also, with Vanessa, we see her slowly get corrupted to his criminal ways over the course of season 1, to the point of not even seeing him as the bad guy when he's locked up. She's as much as a threat as he is tbh.

Do you guys remember when Karen killed Wesley and said "this isn't the first time I've shot someone." I think that there's a LOT more to her than what the show's been telling us.

I expect to find out more on Karens past.
