    Daredevil

Character » Daredevil appears in 4766 issues.

As a child, Matt Murdock was blinded by radioactive waste while trying to save an elderly stranger about to get hit by a truck carrying the dangerous material. In turn, his other senses were heightened to superhuman sharpness and he gained a form of "radar sense". By day, he is a successful trial lawyer; but by night, he guards Hell's Kitchen as Daredevil: the Man Without Fear.

Besides the obvious Frank Miller and Brian Michael Bendis picks. For some great essential Daredevil collections, I highly recommend Karl Kesel and Cary Nord's run from 1994-95 and Joe Kelly's run up to his last issue with Daredevil #375. They really established what Mark Waid is hoping to do with his run on Daredevil. These runs really captured and balanced Matt Murdock in and out of costume and almost set him up for running for mayor until the idea was shot down before Kesel left to focus on his work at DC Comics at the time. Plus of cousre, Daredevil: Yellow, great series about the first year of Matt Murdock's life.

I agree, the Kesel Run (there is a Star Wars pun there if anyone noticed lol) is an underrated era that tends to get past over.

I Think that Brubaker's run is comparable to that of Miller and Bendis.

I think Brubaker's run was better honestly.Bendis wrote Guardian Devil though which was one of my favorite DD arcs of all time.

Daredevil: Yellow is a must read.

I enjoyed Kevin Smith's Guardian Devil

But i became hooked once I started reading Ed Brubakers run. The art isn't the greatest but the storytelling is superb

Cool! A few quibbles (DD debuted in 64 not 63) but all in all, that was a really good spotlight. :]
