As a child, Matt Murdock was blinded by radioactive waste while trying to save an elderly stranger about to get hit by a truck carrying the dangerous material. In turn, his other senses were heightened to superhuman sharpness and he gained a form of "radar sense". By day, he is a successful trial lawyer; but by night, he guards Hell's Kitchen as Daredevil: the Man Without Fear.
@sprior93: I've already read Yellow, End of Days, and Guardian Devil, and I've heard a lot of less-than-great things about Shadowland. So, Nocenti it is, I guess.
@elicrofoot: Yep, Shadowland was pretty bad, but you never know. The only other notable run I can think of is Kesel(#353-364), or maybe Stan Lee if you like silver age stuff.
Charles Soule run feels like a natural follow up to Shadowland but actually really damn good. It does a great job at dismissing Waids run which I'm not a fan of.
Anne Nocentis run is collected in some Epic Collections if I remember correctly and she did a pretty great job writing a conflicted Matt in the 80's.
Shout out to Kevin Smiths run. I think it's far from one of the greats but it's really good. Art work took a while to get past.
Also check out some arcs like Yellow, End of Days, Fall From Grace, Last Rites, Deatg of Karen page and Dead Mans Hand. Daredevil has had a consistently great publication after Miller so you can really read /most/ any series and get some enjoyment out of it.
