Daredevil
Character » Daredevil appears in 4766 issues.
As a child, Matt Murdock was blinded by radioactive waste while trying to save an elderly stranger about to get hit by a truck carrying the dangerous material. In turn, his other senses were heightened to superhuman sharpness and he gained a form of "radar sense". By day, he is a successful trial lawyer; but by night, he guards Hell's Kitchen as Daredevil: the Man Without Fear.
Daredevil #1 Covers
I don't understand why there's such a largely negative reaction to these. The variant is kind of retro, but has a modern & slightly evil twist to it. And I love the way that they've used words to draw out the city landscape through sounds (although covering his eyes to emphasise that he's blind is a bit cheesy).

"They aren't good. The first one looks fan made. It's not good quality in the least bit and the second one is using a technique that you generally wouldn't use for comics.Using type to make the scenery is a clever use of type it just doesn't go well for a comic cover. Also I know Daredevil is blind but for what reason would he ever need to cover his eyes? That pose makes as little sense as his expression.I'm a huge fan of Daredevil but I would never waste the 5-10 dollars I would be charged for that variant.
Those are just 2 of what will be several variant covers. Here is art for another variant (by Neal Adams) that has just been revealed.
I like all three. I don't buy variant covers though.
First cover: like the background, could use a better silloete though, that just doesn't look like Daredevil.
Second cover: way to busy for my taste.
Third cover: top notch, not sure how he's gonna slow/stop his decent though as he just threw away his billy clubs without the line and it looks like he's headed for empty air.
Has the actual cover been shown yet? (not here obviously, but another thread?) I missed it if it has :/
