The Fantastic Character Renaissance Continues! 5

I'll tell you what, Marcos Martin is gonna have a hell of a time following Paolo Rivera. I don't know if letterers usually handle the onomatopoeia, but this book pays more attention to it from an artist's perspective than almost every other comic. Most books just try and make the words seem loud or quiet with size and loud colors, but Rivera understands that Daredevil really feels sound. His onomatopoeia looks like what's going on. Loud clangs are big. The creak from pushing the shield into the ...

    Devil Vs. Cap! 1

Daredevil is just getting into being back on patrol when Captain America's shield comes flying out of nowhere. Cap tells Daredevil that he's a wanted criminal and that he's been given ample time to turn himself in. Daredevil pleads with Cap to give him a chance to prove his innocence, treating it more like a case in the courtroom than a rooftop superhero battle. Cap reluctantly agrees, but remembers that Daredevil is someone he's trusted in the past. Meanwhile, Daredevil must find out who it is ...

Oh...You Thought I Forgot About That, Folk? 4

Cap wants answers for Matt's actions taken during Shadow Land and Matt discovers that his latest case has hidden layers  The Good  No false advertising on this cover, Cap and DD clash in this issue and it's a battle that plays out just as it should. Each of them using the others trademark weapon was really interesting and made for some great action moments. Waid manages to make him flawed in this issue without writing him out of character. That's something that's very, very rarely done and extre...

Waid and Rivera continue to bring it... 0

Mark Waid blew me away with Daredevil #1 and his fresh take on Matt Murdock. After years of being bludgeoned to death with dark story after dark story, Waid gave us a lighter Daredevil that was a welcomed change. Issue #2 picks up right where the first book left off. Captain America confronts Matt about the events of Shadowland and it starts the book off with a bang. It takes up the first one-third of the issue and features some well scripted action sequences and great dialogue. From there Dare...

Wow Things are Getting Better and Weirder! 0

This issue takes places place after the first and it was amazing. I enjoyed the fight between Captain America and Daredevil and seeing their relationship on whats happen to them, but also seeing Daredevil with Captain America's shield was cool along with Cap with the billy clubs. The story is great and art looks fantastic, but what surprised me was the ending and i wonder whats going to happen. Overall, I'm giving it a 5/5 because its has action with Captain America, Daredevil trying to figure h...

Everyone should be reading this! 1

Mark Waid and Paolo Rivera are hitting a Home-Run with their new Daredevil book! This should be sold in news stands and grocery stores for everyone to read! It's fun, intelligent, gorgeous, and it brings Matt Murdoch down to a lighter and fun tone without forgetting about the edge that has made Daredevil one of the most interesting characters in the Marvel Universe.  The dynamic between Matt and Steve was very enjoyable, the legal intrigue makes for a very good sub-plot, and this take might not ...

    Cap vs DD?! 1

I'm just gonna keep this short. This comic was the best Daredevil comic I've read in a long time, especially since the last Daredevil comic I read was written by Brian Michael Bendis. Having read that makes this issue shine even brighter. The art is well done and the writing from Mark Waid is superb. The banter back and forth between DD and Cap was excellent and made their little conflict even more interesting to me. Out of the four issues out in this series, I would say READ THIS ISSUE. Maybe i...
