    Origin

Daniel was a young boy living in 19th century London. After the death of his parents, Daniel never talked again. It was in 1859 that Daniel was kidnapped by a group of Marauders. This group eventually started working for Nathaniel Essex, whom would later become Mr Sinister. Essex had the Marauders kidnap any unusual people and, since Daniel had stopped talking after the death of his parents, he was a prime target.

    Creation

Daniel Summers was created by Peter Milligan and John Paul Leon and first appeared unnamed in The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix issue 1 (1996). He was only identified fully as Daniel Summers in issue 4 of the same series.

    Meeting his Legacy

Essex carried out experiments on Daniel while he was captive. He was however freed from captivity when his descendent Scott Summers and his wife Jean Grey (the X-men Cyclops and Phoenix) went back in time and freed him from captivity. During his run for freedom, Daniel became friends with one of his former captures, a man named Oscar Stamp. Together with him, he would travel to America with Oscar posing as his father. They took on the name "Summers" as their last name when entering America, after their rescuers Scott and Jean Summers.

    Later Years

In America, Daniel would meet and marry a woman called Amanda Mueller. They would have one child. After a string of miscarriages with his wife (even leading to her being labelled the Black Womb), Daniel would leave his family. His fate after this is unknown and he is presumed dead.
