Eternals #2 cover
Marvel is really really pushing the Eternals. I'm not sure exactly why. In my years of reading comics they've popped up from time to time. They've never really been a big driving force in story arcs. At least not in the ones I read.
I mentioned before that I read the Neil Gaiman/John Romita Jr series (
http://www.comicvine.com/eternals/49-18203/). It was good. You'd think Marvel would've been screaming on top of the hills telling everyone about that one.
I am curious about these guys. I guess since I actually don't know a whole lot about them. I'm mainly familiar with Sersi from her time with the Avengers some time ago. I did buy the first issue. I haven't had a chance to read it yet. It seems like people are getting excited over this. That's good. I wish the Eternals luck. Why not let them have a chance to shine in the spotlight?
The Eternals Have Returned!
This week, Marvel’s Eternals made their return in Eternals #1, from the acclaimed writing duo of Charles & Daniel Knauf (Iron Man: Director of SHIELD) and rising star artist Daniel Acuna, and it’s been embraced by fans and critics!
“The Knaufs have a fascinating premise… [Acuna’s] work is worth the cover price”-- Timothy Callahan, ComicBookResources.Com
“A lot of weird stuff happens, and that gives me hope for the rest of the series”-- Ann McCally, WizardUniverse.Com
“It’s a good start to a promising series. The Knaufs and Acuña seem to be well poised to carry on the work begun by Gaiman”-- Andrew C Murray, WeeklyComicBookReview.Com
“Charles and Daniel Knauf are kicking off this book they way they need to”-- Blake Petit, ComiXtreme.Com
Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on Eternals, as the series continues to generate buzz! Please note that, to allow retailers additional time to increase orders, Marvel has moved the FOC by one week.
Now that Druig’s made his move and the Horde are on their way to Earth, is there any way for Thena and Ikaris to gather the forces of good to triumph in time? Find out in Eternals #2!

Hey! Make sure you don't step on the Comic Vine office!
Look at the pretty colors.
Look at me, I'm practicing my superhero stance!
Tony Stark must be hassling them about registering. Does he get a commission?

I feel like I'm missing something. Marvel keeps sending me these "Who are the Eternals" covers. I never thought they were that big a deal. I've said that the recent mini by Gaiman and Romita Jr. was good. I get that they're getting a new series but I would've never thought there'd be so much of a push behind them. Is an Eternals series something that people are clamoring for? Or are they not so much so Marvel feels they need to push this? I'm going to check it out but I'm not sure if it'll be near the top of my reading list for that week. Although maybe I should move it up to see what all the hub-bub is about.

I was never a really big Eternals fan. Whenever they appeared, I was a little bored. I guess they seemed too...stuffy. Sorta the same way I felt about the Asgardians now that I think about it. The recent mini-series that re-defined them was pretty good. Yeah it was the fact that Neil Gaiman was the writer that made me buy it in the first place. But I didn't give up on it. I was interested in how the series would end.
This new series could be just as good. There's some top talent on it. I also see that the Eternals are settling down in San Francisco (just as the X-Men are going to). I'm telling you, it's because they're finding out that Comic Vine is located just north of San Fran that everyone is making the move out here. I should work on trying to get an interview with them.
Marvel is proud to unveil rising star Marko Djurdjevic’s (Thor) variant cover to The Eternals #1! Written by the fan favorite writing duo of Charlie & Daniel Knauf (Iron Man: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and sensational artist Daniel Acuña, this brand new ongoing series finds the Eternals now based in San Francisco and fighting for their very survival against their own kind following Neil Gaimain’s acclaimed series! Once worshipped by humanity, these god-like beings must find a way to unite before an evil force eradicates their kind…and the Earth!

Incredble Herc? I just can't get past that. How long until if reverts back to Hulk. It still says Hulk in the fine print. We have Red Hulk to look forward to. I'm not worried. I'll sit back and enjoy the ride while it lasts. Hulk deserves a rest after World War Hulk.
Marvel is pleased to reveal newly-exclusive artist Daniel Acuna’s stunning variant cover to Incredible Hercules #114! Featuring Hercules and a familiar team of friends from Los Angeles, the Incredible Hercules #114 Acuna Variant Cover is a can’t-miss for fans of this critically acclaimed series!

I really don't know about this. A red Hulk. From what we've been told it's not Banner. So any theories on who the man in red is?
After the Earth-shattering events of World War Hulk, the Hulk is seemingly no more…but then just who’s the red-skinned behemoth calling himself the Hulk? The acclaimed, superstar creative team of writer Jeph Loeb (Ultimates 3, television’s Heroes) and artist Ed McGuinness present Hulk #1, launching an all-new era for Hulk that kicks off with one of his oldest cast members’ murder! Iron Man, She-Hulk and Leonard Samson are on the case, but with all evidence pointing towards Hulk as the murderer, will justice be done?
"When Ed McGuinness came to Marvel, he told me this was the book he was most interested in,” said the Eisner Award-winning Loeb. “He was brimming with ideas, sketches, redesigns, the works. I've always been a Hulk fan, Hulk: Gray is still one of my favorite things I've done at Marvel, and so teaming with Ed-- who I had a great deal of fun with Superman/Batman-- is a dream project for both of us. We hope that the fans and retailers like the thrill ride wrapped in a mystery that we've created. Ed's art never looked better, Jason's colors are remarkable and my good luck charm Richard Starkings' design and lettering is magical. I'm having a blast!"
Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on Hulk #1, spinning directly out of the top-selling World War Hulk epic and featuring two of the industry’s most beloved creators. You’ve never seen the Hulk like this before! You’ve never seen the Hulk smash like this before! And, once you’ve read Hulk #1, you’ll realize why you’ve never had your jaws on the floor like this before!
