Amazing Spider-Man #569 In Stores Today & Already Sold Out!
I think it's safe to say that this would be the first comic I'd read after picking them up from the comic shop. It's funny how most people have been putting down Spider-Man since
Brand New Day started. I'm not exactly happy with
how we got to where we are now but now that we are here, it's really not bad. I suggest you try to get to the comic shop as soon as you can so you don't miss out on what everyone is going to be talking about. Maybe you could still pick up a copy of last week's 568. I have a feeling they'll be reprinted but why take the risk?
On the day of its release, Amazing Spider-Man #569 has sold out at Diamond (though copies will be available at retail level)! The second part of the hotly anticipated “New Ways To Die” storyline marks not only the first appearance of Anti-Venom, but also the second straight sell out for Spidey’s summer blockbuster, which IGN.Com deemed a, “well-plotted, intelligent superhero story.”
Who is Anti-Venom? Why have the Thunderbolts assaulted Peter Parker? And just what does Norman Osborn know about the connection between Peter & Spider-Man? Find out in Amazing Spider-Man #569, in stores now!

Here's what I've been waiting for. More Jackpot. Who is she? Yes, we all think it's MJ but...that seems too obvious. It'd also be a little cheesey. Almost as cheesey as Spidey making a deal with the devil...
This should be interesting. I still think they're going to try to get Peter together with Carly. I'd be really surprised if this was MJ and they were trying to create some tension between them. But you never know. Why should things make any sense.
The thrice-monthly adventures of your favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man continue in Amazing Spider-Man #549 as the wall-crawler faces an all-new menace – the appropriately named Menace! (duh) Brand New Day continues as writer Marc Guggenheim (Wolverine) and Salvador Larroca (newuniversal) kick off an all-new story arc. And as if that wasn’t enough, superstar artist David Finch provides a jaw-dropping variant cover!
In Amazing Spider-Man #549, not only will Spidey have to contend with the newest addition to his rogues gallery in Menace, but he’s…being sued?! Plus, the mystery surrounding the dead bodies tagged with spider-tracers deepens! It’s more of that ol’ Parker luck for Webhead, but he’s about to receive a helping hand from New York’s newest, red-headiest super hero –Jackpot!
Brand New Day has been met with great reviews as the first issue of Spider-Man’s new era, Amazing Spider-Man #546, has sold out at Diamond (though copies may be available at the retail level). But don’t worry as Amazing Spider-Man #546 Second Printing Variant, with a new cover featuring the spectacular interior art of Steve McNiven, is on its way!
Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on all issues of Amazing Spider-Man, as the series continues to receive high profile coverage from Newsweek, Yahoo.Com, People Magazine, USA Today, The New York Daily News and more!
Now that Amazing Spider-Man ships thrice monthly, it’s three times the amazing, three times the action and three times your favorite super hero!

So for all the people saying they were going to boycott Spider-Man, doesn't look like they kept to their word. I've already said that I liked this issue. Despite everything that was forced upon us, this was a well-written story. I can enjoy a good story as long as I can hold onto the hope that things will return to what they should be at some point. Just like Captain America. Steve Rogers should return and I'm holding onto the hope inside that he will somehow be back someday. What's kind of funny is all the ranting and raving everyone did over One More Day only served to bring more attention to Spider-Man. I'm sure Marvel printed more of this issue. I'm sure comic stores ordered more copies. It sold out. Most likely there were people walking into shops off the streets wanting to see what all the hub-bub was about. That's why it sold out. It's the same with Iron Man. People don't seem to really like him but he's getting attention. That's what Marvel wants.
Marvel is pleased to announce that Amazing Spider-Man #546, beginning the landmark Brand New Day storyline, has sold out at Diamond (though copies may be available at the retail level). Written by the friendly neighborhood dream team of acclaimed writer Dan Slott (Avengers: The Initiative) and superstar penciller Steve McNiven (Civil War), and kicking off the thrice-monthly shipping of Amazing Spider-Man, this issues launches a bold new era for Peter Parker as he must confront the new criminal elements, new threats…and search for a new job!
To meet the overwhelming demand for this issue, Marvel is going back to press with Amazing Spider-Man #546 Second Printing Variant, with a new cover featuring the spectacular interior art of Steve McNiven!
“As the controversial first issue of a new era for Spidey, Slott, McNiven and everyone else involved hit this one out of the park,” said editor Steve Wacker. “Love it or hate it, everyone's takling about Spider-Man.”
ComicBookResources.com’s Augie De Blieck Jr gushed that Slott is, “the perfect writer for a Spider-Man book,” a sentiment echoed by SilverBulletComicBooks.Com’s Dave Wallace, declaring Brand New Day, “a reinvigoration of the Spider-Man mythos and a return to the classic roots of the character.”

Has anyone listened to Marvel's podcasts? I'll admit, I only subscribe to a couple podcasts. My problem is finding the time to actually listen to them. They just start stacking up on my computer. It is a cool thing that Marvel is "getting with it" and putting these podcasts together. Reading interviews is one thing but actually hearing from real people is another. This Skrull stuff is just going to get crazier and crazier. The Marvel Universe has to adopt the X-Files catchphrase of "Trust No One."
Who better to speak about State of the Initiative than the Initiative’s number one drill sergeant? In this latest edition of the Mighty Marvel Podcast, Avengers: The Initiative writer Dan Slott discussed thinning the pack of the heroes training at Camp Hammond in the upcoming Avengers: The Initiative story arc entitled “Killed In Action”. Providing hints about who’ll live and who’ll die, Slott also gave an ominous warning about the Skrull-fueled Secret Invasion and the full extent of their infiltration! State of the Initiative Podcast Part 3 is the final installment of the State of the Initiative three part series, hosted by fan-favorite Marvel personality Jeff Suter, and it’s available on Marvel.Com today! To feast your ears on this Mighty Marvel Podcast, download and listen to it right here: http://www.marvel.com/news/comicstories.1622
Examining the Post-Civil War Initiative’s effect on the Marvel Universe, and giving fans a sneak peek at the upcoming mega Marvel event Secret Invasion, this is the podcast series you can’t afford to miss! The first two thrilling installments of the State of the Initiative Podcast, featuring the sensational writers Brian Reed and Brian Michael Bendis, can be found here: http://www.marvel.com/news/comicstories.1622
So, True Believers, tune into upcoming Mighty Marvel Podcasts, featuring the Hulk, X-Force, Wolverine, Thunderbolts, and the next chapter of the cosmically charged Annihilation books!

Here I am, shaking with anticipation. What is going to happen? What's going to happen to MJ? Is she still in the picture? What about Aunt May? Has she finally expired? What about the secret identity? Are they going to incorporate the "solution" that the Scarlet Spiders came up with in Avengers Initiative? It'd make sense since it was Dan Slott that wrote it. But why was it done over there and not in an actual Spidey comic? I just want my old Spidey back. I do like this new direction they're taking with the "thrice monthly shipping."
After the harrowing, life-changing events of One More Day, Peter Parker is about to experience a Brand New Day in the extra Amazing Spider-Man #546. Arriving in stores this January, this landmark issue kicks off Amazing Spider-Man’s thrice monthly shipping, giving you three times the Spider-Man you know and love! The superstar creative team of writer Dan Slott (Avengers: The Initiative) and Steve McNiven (Civil War) send Spider-Man in a surprising new direction, sure to thrill friendly neighborhood fans new and old! Featuring a stunning cover by McNiven and a variant by upcoming Fantastic Four penciller Bryan Hitch (of Ultimates fame), this issue is guaranteed to get your spider-sense tingling!
To celebrate this sensational occasion, Amazing Spider-Man #546 is packed to the brim with the extras you demanded! From a longer lead story to a bevy of bonus tales, this is the Spider-Man comic you can’t miss. Get ready for Spider-Man 101 from Dan Slott, Bob Gale and John Romita Jr! Learn more about the mysterious Jackpot in a story by Marc Guggenheim and Greg Land. The spotlight’s on an important Spider-Man cast member in a new story by Bob Gale and Phil Winslade. Plus, the return of the Spider-Man letter column, so get your pen and paper all ready to go, folks!
And if that’s not enough, we’ve got a super-secret, can’t-tell-you-or-we’d-be-fired, story by Zeb Wells and Mike Deodato!
This January, courtesy of the new Spidey Brain Trust (Slott, Guggenheim, Gale, Wells), Spider-Man’s spinning into new allies, new villains and new action like you’ve never seen before! It all begins with Amazing Spider-Man #546!

I don't feel bad for the Marvel Universe. I say Hulk is justified in his actions. Ever since the beginning he's just wanted to be left alone. He wouldn't have cause so much destruction if people would just leave him alone and stop pissing him off. Then we have the high and mighty Illuminati. I just find it hard to believe that the brains behind that group could screw up so badly. Sending the Hulk to the wrong planet? Having it be possible that the ship would explode and kill millions of innocents on said planet? They do need to face what they've done.
World War Hulk continues, as the Hulk continues to smash anything that comes his way and the odds are stacked against the heroes defending the island of Manhattan!
In Avengers: The Initiative #5, written by Dan Slott and illustrated by Stefano Caselli, the team of new recruits heads into the war zone to save innocent lives, but they might have to look after themselves first when they come face to face with the Green King! Plus, Hardball must cope with the fact that the S.P.I.N. Tech he stole from Stark’s lab was the one weapon that could have stopped the rampaging monster dead in his tracks. Meanwhile, Henry Gyrich dispatches the Shadow Initiative to deal with the Hulk, but who are these questionable heroes? Constrictor? Bengal? One…two…three enigmatic Iron Spiders? A line-up like this makes the Thunderbolts look like the Mighty Avengers! And the most terrible secret of all – who is Mutant Zero? Perhaps the rumors of a 199th mutant are true after all…
Critics continue to praise Avengers: The Initiative, with Newsarama.Com' s Troy Brownfield saying, “If you’re already reading Mighty [Avengers] and New [Avengers] . . .or even if you aren’t . . . you need to take some Initiative.”
Meanwhile, World War Hulk: Front Line #4 smashes into stores, written by Paul Jenkins and boasting a trio of talented artists including: Ramon Bachs, Shawn Martinbrough (Detective Comics), and Chris Moreno (Sidekick). Front Line reporters Ben Urich and Sally Floyd continue their journey through the war-bound Harlem as they watch the Hulk swat General Ross’s helicopters like so many pesky flies. Also, Detective Danny Granville is hot on the case of Arch-E-237’s killer with the help of Korg! What is in store for these two duos of brave investigators?
With the tides of battle in the Hulk’s favor, will everyone just stand-by and watch as the Hulk takes over? Pick up Avengers: The Initiative #5 and World War Hulk: Front Line #4 to find out the next step in the war that’s changing the Marvel Universe!
