Origin

Dan Dare was born in Manchester, UK, and was the son of Captain McGregor Dare, chief test pilot for Cosmic Spaceships.

Creation

Dan Dare was created by Frank Hampson and first appeared in Eagle #1(01) (1950).

Hero of the Spaceways

In adulthood, Dan became known as Colonel Daniel McGregor Dare, Space Fleet's chief pilot and most decorated son. A true legend, Dare's adventures have taken him far and wide, to face dangers of every kind - from the flamepits of Venus to the Dark Star of Sabul, from the pitted surface of the Red Moon to the new world of Terra Nova.
