Well  with  all  his death  and now  Batman  Incorporated ,  the truth is  that  not  much  has been  shared  with  Damian  and  treatment  a distant ,  not  as it has  been  with  Tim .  I think Bruce  does not  care much  for  him.

In fact  those who  have taken charge  of him and  improve  his  attitude  have  been  Dick and  Alfred , they do  that take  all the credit.    

Bruce is a bad father and a bad father figure.  This has been obvious since the first night he allowed Dick to go out on patrol with him.

Well, as it turned in the Epilogue episode of JLU, he did a good job being Terry's "old man" after Warren McGinnis was killed.

Any person who would intentionally put his children in situations where they could be brutally murdered by a psychopath on a daily basis is an awful father 

With what we have scene from Batman & Robin #1 and 2 is that Batman does refer him to his son but does not respect him because he is not at the same  respect level that Dick, and Tim give him. Damian is not good socially but While working with Dick as batman he made better strides than so far he was with his father. with how im guessing the series is going they will fight most of the time, have a story that brings them more together but next story goes back to the old status quo.

A year and a reboot later this issue has finally been tackled in the first arc of the Batman and Robin series.

Yeah Batman may be many things but a good father he really isn't.

Bruce is not a bad father.....Okay,he is.

Bruce is a bad father. He is hard with Damian, and he doesn't trust him. He is always comparing him with the other robins, and that hurts Damian's feelings and confidence, because when bruce does that, Dami thinks he isn't good enough for being robin, and always is trying to gain the others approval and looking for attention (maybe doing somethings that aren't exactly correct). If Bruce just accepts him the way he is, damian will grow up as a much better person. He's only a kid, and Bruce should understand that.

Bruce is a bad father, in both a real world and super hero world sense. He wasn't a good father to Dick or Jason either. I don't mention Tim because his father was alive for most of his time as Robin. And then I wouldn't say he started to look at Bruce as a father until later. In Bruce's defense though, Damian is also an awful son who doesn't show much respect. Then there's the fact that i'm sure Damian wishes it was Dick he was fighting beside instead of Bruce, as Dick's someone he's grown used to and respects and who then respects him in turn. Bruce can't relate to Damian and this leads to Damian feeling inferior, not only to Bruce but to his older brothers as well. As I said before, this whole deal of him challenging the others could've been avoided if Bruce spent some real time getting to know the boy. But back to defending Bruce, Damian's a product of rape by a woman Bruce is no longer in love with. Really seeing Damain's probably like a slap in the face every single day. Really both are to blame for the way things are between them, but its Bruce's responsibility as the adult to confront the situation.
