Damian Wayne
Character » Damian Wayne appears in 1893 issues.
Damian Wayne is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. Trained by the League of Assassins all his life, Damian joined his father’s side in the war against crime by becoming the fifth Robin.
So is Damian RedBird
I hope this fixes the break between Tim and Damian, you know it's almost like he took inspiration from 'Red Robin'.

I haven't read Batman Inc (and don't particularly desire to do so). Is this a permanent shift? If so I can't say I'm happy with it. It seems a bit out of nowhere and I was hoping Damian would remain Robin for at the very least a few more years.
It makes perfect sense if you would read the comic before criticizing.
@SupBatz said:
@Batnandez: I wouldn't call that a criticism as much as a mere stating of opinion. The same thing anybody does before reading a comic book. Perhaps the shift is for the best and I will grow to like it. But for the moment I cannot say I like the idea of it.
I'm just saying it's dumb not to like something without any knowledge of it.
@Batnandez: I don't like the concept. That's not dumb. Perhaps Morrison will write it very well and I will grow to like the change but if I were an editor at DC and Morrison presented the concept to me (unless he had big plans and a strong argument) I would think it's too soon for Damian to assume a new identity.

Lol, you NEED to read the book before commenting on this one. He's not really assuming a new mantle.
Haven't read the issue or anything, but I like the nod to Nightwing with the sticks. Shows just how much Damian respects and looks up to him.

Yeah, perhaps he's the only former Robin he respects haha.
Not that the other ones gave him enough reasons to do so...
Thoughts:
- Cool costume.
- Like the name, but wish they'd given it to Tim so he could ditch "Red Robin".
- Wait, now we have 3 Robins with "red" in their name? How long until Nightwing goes Redwing or even worse, Red Nightwing?
- I bet this is temporary for the arc. Damian won't be grounded forever. Unless he killed Alfred just there I guess. Then he'd probably be grounded forever.
- Oh wait, escrima sticks? Nightwing & Redbird anyone?
The Redbird name and costume totally could've been given to Tim rather than the Red Robin moniker after BFTC and during SFBW. It'd be pretty boss if Tim beats up Damian and robs him of the Redbird theme, while saying something like "now we're even" and finishing it with "thats what big brother's do", showing signs of acceptance of Damian.
...BRB off to write that in Fan-Fiction...
@KnightRise: It would be just like Tim to bite on someone else's good idea. Red Robin Alias wasn't originally his identity either, nor was the Robin mantle(zing!) His unternet suit is basically Nightwing's with a cape. He wants to be just like Batman, and during BFTC he even played dress up in his late fathers garbs. That's like wishing you had frosted flakes, so you dump sugar into your corn flakes close your eyes and put a spoonful in your mouth. That basically sums up Tim Drake. A generic, poor mans version of Bats. Tim is a corn flake.
@SmoothJammin: See, what I liked about the (second) pre new-52 Red Robin costume wast he fact that it looked simillar to Batman, as if he were finally becoming his own top tier hero. And ironically, as qualified as Tim is, he'd still come off as Batman-lite. I'd put that in the fan-fic I'm thinking about but I thik I'll be butchering the character lol
@KnightRise: I preferred his preN52 costume over what he wears atm. All Tim needed was to bulk up but he'd eventually grow into his own singles style hero. What was cool was I felt like I could begin to take him seriously, and not think of him as a sidekick anymore. Sure, Red Robin's a title that's been passed around frequently but Tim was making something of it. In my mind, the perfect setting for Tim would be Hub City, inheriting the mantle of his hero Blue Beetle.
I'd rather see him build his own legacy like Nightwing, make his own money, craft his own world than have to share in someone else's cluttered sandbox. Imo Bruce has dedicated enough time to Timothy, his primary focus should be his son Damian now, Dick as well, who's both the heir to Batman and the "firstborn". Plus Babs is just as tech savvy as Tim is. No need in him becoming redundant.
We've seen two batmen at the same time, three if you count Terry ;), multiple flashes, loads of green lanterns, there's no excuse why there can't be a couple Blue Beetles running around or simply change his name to The (Blue)Scarab...idk. As far as job hunting goes, he can work for Kord Enterprises and earn the top spot at the company through hard work and good character development. I can already see Max Lord presented as his nemesis. If we're being honest, Tim's probably one of the few guys capable of tracking Max and bringing him down.
The last thing I want is for Tim to be put in a position where he's sounding off alarm bells towards DC because his character never grows up, prompting the company to kill him off because his only purpose in life is to exist as a cookie cutter Batman, ageless and without flaw. It almost happened to Dick Grayson during Infinite Crisis. I think that's part of the reason Lobdell decided to distance him from Batman and retcon his time as Robin to be honest.
Wait so Dick names his car the Nightbird and Tim goes and gets a "Redbird" hmm
jk, lol..
Batwing is Bruce's jet after all.
@SmoothJammin: actually, the Redbird has been around longer than the Nightbird. Tim had the RB since 1993, Dick didnt get his car until '98

There is speculation elsewhere on the 'Vine that Wingman is Jason Todd. Take it or leave it....just passing along gossip

There's also speculation that he's Jean-Paul Valley.

There's a bounty on "Robins" head so that's why Damian is now Red Bird. It's only temporary and with in the pages of Batman INC alone.
I hated JPV. He's not worth bringing back IMO. Also, this panel:
He has to be talking about salvaging the Wingman reputation, right? Because his true identity is a mystery "no matter what", so it wouldn't make sense if he was, say, Jason Todd that being Wingman would salvage Jason Todd's rep, because nobody would know.
I'm guessing it's Miles Morales.

From what I've seen of Wingman he looks like a big dude.I went with Dick because he's the only one I can see Damian working with but yeah neither Dick nor Jason are that big.JPV is a possibility,it could even be Bane.
@entropy_aegis: His big, but not Bane big. However, the idea of a villain filling in for Batman reminds me of when the cured Harvey Dent watched over Gotham during the "one year later" gap. Then there was the time Joker posed as "the gravedigger."

Yeah Joker as Oberon Sexton comes to mind.As for size,Bane's size may be exaggerated often but it's possible.
I think it's pretty clear by the panel that Damian IS Redbird...I'm not real sure why there's question to it? I mean, yeah, they could serve us all, but I'm pretty positive that Damian is indeed Redbird. Also, Wingman is obviously Wolverine in a Batsuit. Look at the chin. It's Wolverine's chinny chin-chin. He borrowed the mask's visor from Cyclops as a nod to him and combined it with an old cowl. The shoulder pads are clearly the uh...cones? from that one Madonna video. lol
Na the scan at the very top of this page is Batman talking to Wingman@Jonny_Anonymous: where did u get this pic from?
maybe wingman is bruce? no?
