In what Time Frame does Damian fit into the Bat universe now?

One thing came to mind when thinking of the new 52 time frame and since all the characters have been deaged somewhat it doesn't make sense. Now don't get me wrong I am nit picking here over the new 52 even though I am enjoying the stories but there are too many plot holes that need to be filled and this is one of them.

When Damian first came into Batman comics Bruce was possibly in his mid thirties to late thirties give or take (There is a reason I state this) And in Batman Inc when seen with Dick Grayson as Batman Dick came more as in his late 20s to early 30s but during this point I would have placed Bruce in his 40s (he did seem older during this arc and just the way he was drawn) But now that the new 52 is upon us Damian hasn't been deaged and is still 10 yet Bruce is back to late 20s to early 30s but this begs the question now, Just when did Bruce have Damian in this new timeline? Since he's 30 and damian is 10 that would mean Bruce would have had to have had Damian with Talia before he became Batman unless Bruce has been Batman since his early 20s but at most from DC's new timeline Bruce became Batman (his first year) at 25 thanks to DC stating that Justice League is five years ago from current batman comics So Bruce must have had Damian whenhe wasn't Batman....

Can someone make sense of this? If this was before Bruce became Batman then the whole part where Talia drugged him as Batman doesn't apply

Bruce was younger when he began his time as Batman. The events of Justice League happened 5 years prior, when he was 25, yes. But that wasn't his first day on the job. He had been on the scene for several years. Additionally, it could easily be rewritten to suggest that Damian was conceived during Bruce's training, during his time of tutelage under Ra's. While it doesn't fit perfectly with the established conception story, that was an originally out of continuity tale to begin with, and we can play with some of the deets.

    @TheOptimist:

Tutelage with Ra's? is that a Batman Begins reference on origin? Which isn't the comic book continuity I have to say, even in the current Batman and Robin comics Bruce is facing down Nobody who is Henri Ducard's son and in the Begins movie Henri Ducard was just an alias for the real Ra's Al Ghul.

Though it's a good opinion but it doesn't apply since Bruce never met Ra's till he became Batman.

Also true it's not his first day obviously Batman year one is within the JL story as the first year of Batman

This is completely right. The fact is that no it doesn't make sense, I finally read up on the flash point thing to see ho everything got this jacked up, but the thing is that this new 52 is just as equally messed up as that time wise.

I could have sworn that actually happened, but it might be a TV show origin more so than the comics as they have a habit of diverging at points. but in the end I feel the best tactic to go by is

Cause lets face it, the current writers don't really seem to care about the specifics so much as getting out their stories and arcs.

Please, it's a fictitious world.... Batman should be over 70 if not haha.

Just read the blest comic books...

Just don't think about it lol that's the only way you'll keep your sanity. Especially as time goes on and they keep adding things that don't fit p with their own new timeline.

Basically Dick, Tim, and Jason were already crime-fighters of a sort before becoming Robin, all became Robin in rapid succession, and Damian was conceived prior to Batman becoming Batman publicly. He was either still in training or Batman without being Batman.

They should not have bothered with Jason or Tim. I hate to admit that, but with all these timeline problems because of this stuff, they should've dropped Jason and Tim along with Cass and Steph.

Some people seem to believe that bruce has been batman for 9 years.Whether or not that means that the former robins were robins before JL remains to be answered. But it may not be that case anyway.I guess we gotta believe that this hasn't happened yet.Hopefully Snyder can shed some light onto Bruce's beginning as batman with his year oneish arc that started in Batman #0.I doubt it,but hey...what are ya gonna do?

At least one Robin should have been cut from existence, and things would have been better, but who? I can't ever imagine cutting out Dick Grayson, and you can't have Death in the Family or Red Hood without Jason Todd.

Damian should have been cut, but since they love Grant Morrison so much, that wasn't going to happen. You could have had Tim Drake becoming Robin in Batman & Robin #1.

As for how is Damian so old? Growth acceleration.

growth acceleration seems the only possible theory and the current batman inc.series backs it up as well in a way that 'the heretic' is just damian's clone grown to full maturity, so Talia could have done the same with damian to an extent...obviously this isnt in stone just an idea that keeps me sane. Im gonna srsly miss the brat :'(
