Dale Gunn was an architect and security specialist. He was a friend of the son of Commander Steel and was appointed maintenance man of the bunker in Detroit, the then-new headquarters of the reorganized Justice League. He even had a small romance with Zatanna .

After Professor Ivo`s attack on the Justice League (during the events of Legends), Steel and Vibe were killed. He evicted the League when the grandson of his employer was left incapacitated.

The New 52

In the New 52 Dale appears in Justice League of America's Vibe #1, as an agent of the government agency A.R.G.U.S. He is given the task of bringing in Vibe and getting him to join the new Justice League of America. In issue #4 of Justice League of America's Vibe, it is revealed that this new version of Gunn is gay and married to another man named Casey, though he's been hiding their marriage from his superiors at A.R.G.U.S. so as to prevent any of their enemies from exploiting it.
