UXM # 6. So, yeah. That happened (Spoilers inside)

First off, awesome issue. Not so sure about the beginning, but the end when they all charged at the demons was awesome. Even Poink seemed like a badass. Ok, what I really wanted to discuss was this. Btw, don't mind the edit I did for lawlz and if you catch the Billy Madison reference, good on you. I thought it was awesome, but then kinda came back like...did he seriously just hurt Dormammu? I know it didn't do much, but it was cool.

Anyways, what are your guys' opinions on the issue? Or Cyclops going all lawn blasting on Dormammu?

Still kind of giggling over it.

I loved this issue a lot (as I mentioned here...shameless plug is shameless).

I particularly appreciated how this basically made it look like his mask is just a rubber ski-cap he wears over half his face. Which, you know, it kind of is. Definitely didn't see that...lack of restraint coming, but I'm all for seeing Dormammu get owned.

@akbogert: I thought it was awesome. Being one of the top Cyclops fans on the site, I marked out a bit. But then logical me came back and said, that probably shouldn't have happened. Him hurting Dormy.

@god_spawn: I wouldn't know. This arc is the first time I've actually seen him (other than randomly in pictures). Makes sense that he shouldn't be vulnerable but, like I said, I'm not going to complain :P

@akbogert: I won't either. I'll take it for nostalgia lol.

I thought it was dumb. They shouldn't be able to hurt beings like him.

it's cool and all but WHAT?

#11 Posted by God_Spawn (37882 posts) - - Show Bio

@theacidskull: You saw it. He went O'DOYLE RULES! and blasted him >:D. Like a bawse.

well can't argue with that, though this was kinda PIS for now, but bendis seems to have in mind that cyclopes lasers have become much more powerful, so the longer he does stuff like this the more likely it'll become a part of his power set.

@theacidskull: Cyclops does have entire dimension of energy at his disposal. He's just always been held back by physical/mental restraints. So it does seem plausible. But at least he didn't get turned into stone like the Hulk or anything.

All is all i need. Simple math shows that Hulk Badassness > cyclops.

@theacidskull: I can tell they still burn you up.

the Old wounds took time to heal, but now when i get worried i remember than Mark waid is writing hulk, and then the pain fades away.

besides aaron has been stepping up his game with thor.

Go Scott!!!

@theacidskull:

Waid's good on Daredevil. His Hulk is still meh for me.

And Aaron is also spiraling further into destruction on WATXM.

well you know, opinions and such. Waid need a few issues to adjust banner and now with the Hulk/thor Crossover he has been killing it, for me anyways.

I gave up on Wolverine and the X-men, that series is beyond terrible and i will not be a part of that. Thor is good, way better in fact, so i'll stay with that series.

@theacidskull: Agreed. His Thor is awesome.

coped with ribics killer art.

Why did you decide to pick up wolverine and the x-men though?

#26 Edited by God_Spawn (37882 posts) - - Show Bio

@theacidskull: Because originally it was good and the humor was refreshing from the often doom and gloom state of the X-Men. It was different. But once the series hit double digits, especially after post AvX, it lost all direction and has just been a bunch of filler arcs with absolutely no purpose and the humor it had grew stale.

well that sucks, but it does sound like the old aaron, at least there's Savage Wolverine though, that series has been very enjoyable

@theacidskull: I like Savage Wolverine and I'm glad Cho is leaving after the next issue. While he writes Wolverine skillfully, which isn't something we get often, his Wolverine seems so ridiculously nerfed and or inconsistent, depending how the issue with Hulk goes.

That particular issue MIGHT, and this is a definite possibility, send us into a very.........crazy debate...

Anyways i agree with what you just said, wolverine's healing factor works well at times and then it takes ages to heal, lets see how Zeb wells does on the title

@theacidskull: Nah. I've pretty much accepted that 98% of the time Hulk would handily take Wolverine. Logan would give him a bit of trouble being faster and capable of hurting him, but Hulk's regen is too insane and Logan would go down in a handful of hits when Hulk does get him.

It's inconsistent in just weird ways. Like "that won't heal right" when Shanna stabs him in the same spot half a dozen times. I think for the most part, 80% of writers can at least handle Logan's healing ala tanking heavy hits, healing damage to organs without issue and getting taken out by virtual complete destruction of said major vital organs before eventually regenerating.

nah man :P, i was joking.

and yeah, i agree. the other wolverine series i really dislike, but for what i've seen it had managed to convey wolverines healing factor well, healing from complete degeneration of skin and tissue and etc. though like i said the story i really dislike.

@theacidskull: I haven't picked it up. I checked it out at the shop, but I didn't like the art. I love Cho's art and he isn't a bad writer so he got my money.

Well his powers have been broken by the phoenix so we've yet to see how exactly they've changed (phoenix infused optic blasts?). Character like Scott and Colossus (both members of the P5) have been very limited (power wise) since they were introduced while others like Rogue, Iceman and Angel keep developing. It would be a huge missed opportunity if they're powers are simply broken.

I loved the "you bore me" speech though.

art looks horrible
