Marvel is setting up Utopia, the X-Men, and Cyclops for a very big fall. Look at every other major event where one faction grew to power, in the end they were brought to their knees and looked terrible in the process. Scott is about to get the Xavier / Stark treatment because Marvel just keeps using the same script over and over while just changing the participants.
I hate that more than Bendis@Brazen_Intellect: Yea its obvious that happening.. im just enjoying it while it lasts... I just hope something good comes out of this event, the return of jean, more mutants ect. im not to in love with the fact that there making the x men look like badguys but.. w/e
Rumor has it jean's not coming back. Which is to bad it would be interesting to see the white phoenix vs the phoenix five especially her vs scott considering they could almost be light and dark mirror images of each other.
It would be really great if the five are the last parts that jean needs to complete the phoenix rebuild.
@mtrakos: Hey hey.. I like mutants lol
@Crom-Cruach: he can be at times but how does building a new mutant paradise qualify as more evidence?
@War Killer: in some off the tie ins it shows the Phoenix 5 stopping war around the planet.. it seems that Cyclops is continuing with his plan to make mutants less hated by doing awesome things & stopping major problems in the world but with the PP it reminds me of....
That time cable tried to save/change the world with his awesome power
Yeah, because a mighty Mutant dictator with unlimited power is exactly what the world needs...@War Killer: in some off the tie ins it shows the Phoenix 5 stopping war around the planet.. it seems that Cyclops is continuing with his plan to make mutants less hated by doing awesome things & stopping major problems in the world but with the PP it reminds me of....

Lmao!
I do hope Jean comes back, since really in essence she is the only one that can control the full phoenix power in my opinion. And shes been gone for so long its time for her return. One of the first people i read about in comics was Jean. I do like how UTOPIA looks in that image, but i'm sure even Emma will be worrying about Scott with the Phoenix Force not just Prof X.
I'd think it would be more to do with writers/editors@spiderbat87 said:

They can go to anywhere else in the world and call it Utopia. All I know is there's a direct correlation between the X-Men sucking and the f*cking island.

Which could have to do with the damn direction. I hate the idea of Utopia.
It makes a hell of a lot more sense than (yet again) going back to a school@spiderbat87 said:

I never mentioned anything about sense.
apparently there are going to be some big changes after AvX...Slott has already said that along with ASM #700, AvX would have huge ramifications for Spider-man

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Spider-Man, it's your fault the X-Men all turned into the Phoenix. You're off the team!

that does sound like Parker Luck...but Slott also said that these ramifications would affect the rest of the Marvel Universe as well..so it's got to be something big
@DATNIGGA: AvX? who knows...they'll find someway to tie it in....I just hope that when Marvel says that this even will have huge ramifications that those affects aren't forgotten about after 2 months
Jean Grey's not coming back, lol. (Then again, we have of yet to see the final AvX cover.)
But, I'm glad Charley's back. :D His fatherly presence in this is something i highly appreciate.
ITS NOT FAIR!!!!!

Thank you at least someone else sees that.

More evidence that Cyclops is a douche? Shocking!

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
It seems less like him being a douche or being corrupted power and more like he's been taken over by an evil entity.
Before he even had the Phoenix, Cyclops was acting like a mighty Mutant dictator since the beginning of this event, but it's just now that he finally has the power to back himself up.@Crom-Cruach said:

If you think he acted like a dictator before than you know nothing of politics or tyranny.
The man has a whole "nation" who follow his command, he believes that he can harness the powers of an uncontrollable cosmic entity and use it to restore his people, despite the risks it could bring to the planet as a whole, and he sees himself what he is doing is for the better of the whole world while people like Charles Xavier and Captain America see otherwise. Bottom line, the man simply has too much power and like all great leaders, rulers, and dictators, he and his great "utopia" are going to collapse and crumble.@War Killer said:

@War Killer:The President, and any past President, of the United States has whole nation under his command, so I guess that makes him a dictator. Seriously, that's such a loose definition. Also, Utopia is a nation. In real life it might not considered such because it's in US territory, but this is fiction and in the MU Utopia is considered it's own country under protection of Atlantis. As for harnessing the power of the Phoenix, the Phoenix has been controlled before, technically he's right that the Phoenix came to fix Wanda's no more mutant mistake, and Scott promised his son Cable that he would make sure Hope became the Phoenix because Cable said the world would be destroyed if it didn't happen.
Just because Xavier and Cap disagree with his actions doesn't make or a dictator. Fact is , citizens of Utopia can come and go, such as the New Mutants who live in San Fran, and he told Wolverine that he was willing to hold an election to see who the people wanted to lead Utopia. Face it, just like so many people in the western world, whenever someone disagrees with them politically you shout fascism, tyranny, and dictator.
Cyclops is one of my favorite X-Men and I usually tend to defend him but Utopia isn't a nation and Cyclops has become close to being dictatorish. It's also funny though that everyone excuses him sending X-Men around the world to other peoples countries doing whatever they want and altering peoples minds but that gets over looked. but Cap gets called a fascist for doing his job on U.S. territory aka so called "Utopia".
@Dernman: Utopia is a real nation. The MU isn't the real world and shouldn't be treated at such. Also, I still haven't seen anyone post evidence of Scott's dictator-like habits. Also, when the X-Men go to over countries they aren't attacking that country of that country's govt.
Utopia is in U.S. territory nor them calling them themselves a nation doesn't make them one and saying it's a comic doesn't change that. Not true they not only attacked that country with the sentinels but that African nation in the latest Legacy. probably more in their past if I looked. Going after Irans nuclear program. I'm sure we will see other countries in the future. Not to mention they don't even have the right to operate in the first place in these nations in the first place. Don't forget they also will attack Wakanda to get at the Avengers. Also altering peoples minds without their permission is wrong on so many levels.@Dernman: Utopia is a real nation. The MU isn't the real world and shouldn't be treated at such. Also, I still haven't seen anyone post evidence of Scott's dictator-like habits. They declared themselves a sovereign nation inside of U.S. territory, they aren't a real nation.
Do you read X-Men comics? We don't need to give you proof, it's on practically every page.

Technically he is a dictator. He has his own country, it doesn't really seem to be a democracy nobody voted for him. He took control, not aggressively but he still leads a country solo. If you argue that he listens to others, which lately he hasn't been, well so do dictators. They're called advisers, and unlike with a democracy or a country like the U.S. where you have checks and balances to prevent one person from taking complete control, a dictator can just give them the finger and basically tell them to go f##k themselves. Of course you can still say something like that if you're the seventh president of the United States of America Andrew Jackson who said to the Supreme Court when they said he couldn't invade... I don't remember which territory or which Native American tribe he was booting/slaughtering out of it, but the Supreme Court said no and he said "where's your army?". So that proves, at least early in the country's history, you can still be a dictator in a democracy lol.
