Do you want Cyclops back for X4???

Me personally? Yes...the main problem with the trilogy was that his role was decreasing due to Wolverine's popularity...the average person does not understand how important he is to the team and even in comics in general...I'm bringing this up because since the new Wolverine movie is a sequel and hopefully lead in X4 cyclops should be a big part in it.

Who agrees!!!!

I would prefer a reboot with a real first class.

Why?? The original X-men were pretty boring.

They were not boring, they came from a different time than most people reading comic books have grown up with.

I honestly do not want X4.

Exactly, I want to see it brought up to modern standards of writing. I have a healthy love for the original 5 too.

Yeah...and they got canceled.Well, they were shelved for years, not very dissimilar.

I don't think there's going to be a X4. It's a shame, though. Supposedly, X-3 was going to be based around Scott, but then Singer and Marsden left.

They tried to modernize the original X-men in "Children of the Atom". which was basically "X-Men Year One" in the style of what Frank Miller had done for early stories of characters....and it was just lame. X-men First Class was good...but only because it was a more humorous, juvenile kind of book. Very much the opposite of the themes the X-men have come to be synonymous with. Then there is "X-men season 1" which isn't that great either.

I would like to see the Original X-en in a movie ...but it will never happen, there is so many other marketable....more interesting characters

True, but poor stories were a big factor. X-Men simply wasn't one of Stan Lee's better works, and wasn't anything special until Claremont came aboard. He infused the title with the elements we are so familiar with now. He probably could have made a strong book with the original five, but it simply made more sense to bring in new faces.

So he scrapped everyone but Cyclops, brought in Wolverine and the rest, and made X-Men Marvel's most successful series (and the first comic franchise).

I agree with this. Its almost like Claremont hated characters he didn't create..or have a hand in creating, he didn't actually create, Storm, Wolverine and the rest but he jumped on the book right after they were introduced and developed them into the characters we know today. He had planned to retire Cyclops, he killed off Jean Grey (and wanted her to stay dead) had some rather bad things happen to Angel and ignored Iceman...or maybe its because he didn't find the characters that interesting......who knows

@cattlebattle: Your disagreement with my opinion has been noted.

Back off topic: I don't want an X-4 and Bryan Singer's take over of the next X-men movie is troubling.

Cyke was pretty much pissed on in the X-Men movies, unless they are going to script him with some kind of pride, leave him out of it

If they do have a film with Scott in it, they better not portray him as that morose, scruffy-beared recluse. Hate or like the character, but having Cyclops presented like that was stomach-churning. And the new Wolverine movie is not a sequel? It's a stand alone. Unless Hugh Jackman did a complete about face on it.

@howlettgrowl:That means nothing. I've read and heard of many movies and sequels that were rumored to be made and never got past phase 1. Until it's confirmed, it's nothing more than hopeful wishing.

It should be done with a reboot of X1,X2,X3. That probably won't be so in my opinion, bring Cyclops back and don't focus so much on Wolverine. He's already been the main guy in the first 3, he got an origins film and now he's getting a sequel....stop
