Am I the only one that can't stand him? He dresses in a head to toe leotard, he doesn't even have sexy eyes to lustfully look into unless you want to have your head blown off. He's boring and monotone with no sense of humor.
And the worst part of it is he runs every single X team there is. No matter what book I pick up I can't escape himhe's always there.
So how does everyone else feel about Scott Yawn Summers?
Cyclops rules. Not only is he a skilled fighter, he also holds an extreme amount of power in his eyes that he constantly has to worry about for fear of it unleashing and hurting those he cars for. He is looked and and considered one of Marvel's best Team Leaders, or Field Leaders. He is supposed to be the boyscout, that is part of who he is. Now he has been thrown into the role of Mutant 'leader' or spokesman for an entire race. Not to mention having one messed up love life to deal with all while me manages a team and leads them. On top of his former teacher/mentor being not what he really portrayed. Also we throw onto this that he has had Mr Sinister plague his life since he was in school.

So? He still has no personality. Toad's a green freak with a tongue only a Hentai chick would appreciate and he still makes us laugh.
Cyclops is the man. Very few comic character would be able to deal with the things he has and not become a crackpot. People hate him because he's not like Gambit or Wolverine, but you what, he's not suppose to be like them. Cyclops isn't a savage killerand he's not a charm your pants off ladies' man. He's a guy who bears the burden of leadership. He has a focus and drive that very few characters have. People are such hypocrites. When Wolverine is off doing his thing killing up a storm, it's cool. He's the man. When Gambit is out stealing god knows what, he's cool and suave. But when Cyclops is making decisions and coming up with ways to protect his race to the best of his ability, he's a tool. Grow up, people.
What do you mean how so? He has fought against his team on several occasions and came out on top.

Not to mention he has to have something going for him as he has drawn the attention of Jean (over Wolverine and others), Psyloche, and Emma. You do know what it is to lead right? You don't have the time to stop and check, make sure everyone gets in their two cents and then go from there. While you are out in the middle of combat, quick thinking and decisions have to be made and that is what he does and excels at. It has been shown and proved for decades now inside of the X-men comics.

@Andferne: Yes I know what it is to lead, I wasn't talking about in the field I think he is a good field leader I was referring to him just doing what he wants in the planing stage and not caring who he's putting in danger. He may be a good combat leader but he is a poor leader of people, especially one that is dying out.
Now I understand this is a lot of scans. If you actually care to learn and know what Cyclops is capable of then you will take the time to go through these scans. Hate him or love him is you are unbiased then you have to respect him. Over the years he above any other X-man has lead the team the best, the longest. Out of all the Mutants in the world he was the one chosen to become their spokesman. He has lead them through countless wars and has his own demons to battle while he did that.

You still missed the point of what it IS to lead. When you are trying to win a war, a battle or whatever. At times you have to take casualties, it is inevitable. There have also been a number of occasions where he has risked life and limb for his team. Cyclops is the best leader the Mutant race has because he knows what he is doing, has been those situations for years. Knows how to keep his cool and look at things from several points of views.
There is nothing boring about being a Hero, being a Leader.

Yeah I cleaned out a bunch of scans that I had with Scott/Jean, Scott/Emma, and ones where they mention him. Just made my gallery way to large to sort through.

Throw in a couple of Psyloche for good measure. Though the first one is just a dream/fantasy. There is also another one with him basically drooling over her at a pool/lake and one of her in a towel.
There was a comedic strip (I posted here on the vine a while back) about Cyclops in bed with Emma. He starts to ask her about this burning sensation and she just reply's Jean/Pheonix. Later he goes down stairs and see's Wolverine drinking and he also mentioned something about burning. LOL

I love the X-men from the 90's. Stories the artist, to me that IS the X-men. Correct, he was off stomping around and being all Emo. :P He left a letter for Xavier too I believe in the comic.

What did you expect...The woman he loved was marring...And I must re-read all the Uncanny X-Men issues from the 70s' to present day. Both to remember, and to catch up.
He could of manned up and at least been there for her. Swallowed his pride for this woman he 'loved'. imo Instead he once against runs off by himself to do his own thing.
@lioneta: Totally agree w/ you. I just never put it out there before. There are so many that like him. They should have killed him off & let Jean live. I loved the crack in the jaw he took from Wolverine in X-Force #1. He's going to loose it one day directing all those teams.

I don't have an issue with Scot himself, I'm indifferent. He does do a good job of leading the X-men and he has a good story. My issue is with the fact that more and more of the Marvel Universe is turning out to be related to him. It's a little annoying.
