I don't know if there's a character whose costumes I've hated more over the years. All of them have been terrible. Giant yellow underpants? Too-short brown jacket over spandex? Head-to-toe navy with cowl? Puffy coat with a giant yellow x? I'm a fan of cyclops, but if ever a character has been in need of a redesign it's him.

Nay. Oh God. A thousand times nay.

@DarkDay: I think it looks a hell of lot better since Bachalo (can't believe I'm saying this) got his hands on doing the artwork. Not to mention Immonen will probably have a sick look. It isn't bad now that we have the actual outfit design.

@god_spawn: I think it looks better, but I'm still not a fan. And I'm almost never a fan of a costume that the wrong artist's take on it can make it seem like a sin. XD That's actually why I wasn't a big fan of Colossus's Juggernaut look. I've seen art of it that I dig, but far too many of them are horrid looking. So if it can easily go wrong, I'm not so hot on it.

Still not a fan of the utility belt really just because I can't imagine what he'd keep in it. Even with going over the various things that could be in there such as a re-breather, rations, etc. it still seems unneeded as it breaks up the streamlined look and feel of the costume.

Yea I'm ok with the look now given the better drawings of it but cyclops and a utility belt just seems weird outside his animated series costume lol

xavier's around the mulitverse have to die and dassler was in 616 to kill that timelines xavier so even though scott did a bad thing he still did good....weird how if xavier was going to die marvel made it so scott would kill him for a reason

@HopesummersFORtheFUTURE: Umm no. They followed the Brood to 616. They weren't there for 616 Xavier at all.

Oh, and I kind of like it. The costume also makes sense with what has been going on with Cyclops' powers recently with them becoming more powerful and unstable. They've been sporadically blasting his visor off of his face and the helmet is most likely to prevent this from continuing and making him less of a danger to those around him.

Cyclops chooses practical than fashionable. If he is wearing the helmet to protect himself from telapathic attacks and illusions than that can work. Wouldn't he have problem with keeping contact with telepathy, than again he lost his sanity and killed several members of the Hellfire club because of that. He should take mental training later on as soon he can give the leadership to Storm.

Everything but the X-helm looks fine.

the costume is staring to grow on me.

My anti-Cyclops brother told me that this is by far his favorite version of Cyclops (and yeah I can see in his eyes that he truly means it).

Me... I still like the visor look. Cyclops wont be cyclops with without his trademark visor.

I still miss his Phoenix Five costume - had they just used some variation of that, I wouldn't mind. Storywise, it probably would work as it'd be a direct sign that he embraces what he had become when he killed Xavier.

Anyway, the new costume has definitely grown on me since I saw it's first depiction. W/ his powers out of whack, we'll have to wait and see if the new "X" shaped visor will somehow have some effect.

Looking back, I think this costume is pretty good. Do people hate every new stuff?

I like the costume, but I would prefer if his hair is out that is all.

It ended up becoming equaled as one of my favorites, if not slightly becoming my favorite.

Years later my opinion remains the same: it's not as iconic as others, but still a truly awesome look.

@god_spawn: I like this one though. Except for the part, his power sucked, and it's also the reason his visor is like this. They took the idea of his presidential counterpart's power and broke it in the worst way possible.
