Plot Summary

Overview

A Top Cow Pilot Season issue.

Cyblade - she's training to be an elite super-spy and assassin, but who is she working for?

A cereberal action thriller in the vein of Alias and La Femme Nikita, this is a whole new portrayal of Cyberforces's electromagnetic warrior. Written by Harvey Award Winner Joshua Hale Fialkov (Elk's Run, Punks: The Comic) with stunning art by Rick Mays (Kabuki, Zatanna), the true origin of Cyblade begins here.

So this whole Pilot Season thing is meant for us to pick what we want to have continued as a regular series. The Ripclaw issue was pretty good (and I was never a huge Ripclaw fan). This issue too was really something.

It's hard to believe it's been fifteen years since Cyberforce first came out. This issue manages to add life to Cyblade. For a character that is part...machine, writer Joshua Hale Fialkov really managed to portray her as a human. You really feel for her character.

The story, while it was good, was pretty straight forward. I wouldn't necessarily say it was simple but you could feel that it was a set up for what could be a great series. I do want to know what would happen next. Top Cow isn't making this easy on us. It's going to be a tough vote based on the Pilot issues already out.

Oh, and there's nothing like seeing the main character say $h!t eleven times on page.
