Concordance Engines were built by The Beyonders at some point before the birth of the Seventh Cosmos to serve as both the heart and soul of a universe as well as a map of their assigned universe. To defend itself from universal threats like Knull, the Concordance Engines created the Enigma Force in each reality to act as the guardian of their assigned universes. While immensely powerful, the Concordance Engines unfortunately do not live up to the standards set by the Beyonders, who have been working to thwart an unknown threat called Dominion and as such can only contain the damage Dominion will cause in the future to a specific set of realities by using the Enigma Forces at their disposal.
