Conchita Ortiz

Conchita Ortiz and her husband (whom is only ever called "Ortiz" in either of his appearances) were prison guards in Utah. Conchita worked at the Utah State Correctional Institute for Women, while her husband worked at the Utah State Maximum Security Facility outside of Provo, Utah. Learning that the Underground Liberation Army planned to break out an inmate named Gary Saunders, the Punisher--with whom Ortiz had served with in Vietnam--paid Ortiz for information. Saunders was also a suspect in the disappearance of Conchita's cousin, Rita. The jailbreak went down, and though the Punisher interceded, Saunders got the drop on him and left him for dead in the desert. Fortunately, Ortiz arrived and rescued him. Saunders was murdered by Underground Liberation Army member Lydia Spoto.

The Punisher recovered and Ortiz told him that both he and his wife wanted to help him take down the Underground Liberation Army, who were planning on a second jailbreak attempt, this time for the messianic Charles Samson, the leader of the Underground Liberation Front. The Punisher and the Ortizes tracked the Underground Liberation Army down to the Conner ranch in the Santa Clara Mountains. While staking out the ranch, Conchita made a pass at the Punisher, which he rejected. The Underground Liberation Army left the ranch and successfully busted out Samson from a prison transport. Samson himself gunned down many of the Underground Liberation Army, paranoid that they "knew his secret places," and threw Lydia Spoto from a helicopter to hasten his escape. Nonetheless, the Punisher brought down the chopper and killed Charles Samson. Meanwhile, Conchita and her husband were pinned down by other members of the Underground Liberation Army as Utah State Police appeared on the scene. Ortiz sacrificed his own life to take out the remaining members of the ULA, while giving his wife a chance to escape.

Not long after, the Punisher enlisted Conchita in an attempt to kill Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin of Crime. The Punisher and Microchip introduce a computer virus to destroy some of the Kingpin's essential computer files, but in spite of several location changes, an assassin called Mr. Lem infiltrates the Punisher's safehouse and kills Conchita Ortiz before being taken out by the Punisher himself.

Powers

While Conchita Ortiz had no superhuman powers, she studied Psychology and Criminology at Colorado State University, earning a Masters. She was also a highly skilled combatant, trained in unarmed combat as well as with firearms and other conventional weapons.
