Spooky little Lovecraftian story here. The Toad is unlike many other Conan tales lately because we don't really know what Conan is up against, it may be human. It may not be magical. It may just be something so completely out there that we cannot possibly understand. Then again, it could just be a big toad.
Who knows? But it is a good story nonetheless.
Conan is attempting to steal some treasure from a long dead city. Many people have failed, but what is weird was the warning from the dead man 'Beware the Toad'.
If Conan isn't afraid of anything, how could he possibly be afraid of a toad? Will that be his undoing?
