    When Captain Clive Manners told how he had been rescued from the Japs by brave Burmese villagers, he should have been a very relieved man.

    But there was something strange and brooding about Captain Manners. It was as if he was hiding a dark secret - and though no longer a prisoner of the Japs, he was now very much a PRISONER OF FEAR
