This Kingdom Come Companion can be broken down to four main segments. The first section, Genesis, provides background information on how Kingdom Come came to be.

Exegesis then provides exhaustive annotations to the Kingdom Come collected edition, along with spacebars on a dozen works that in some way inspired its creation.

A detour is taken to look at artist Alex Ross' original proposal for what eventually became Kingdom Come with over a hundred and fifty never-before-published character designs. Also Alex Ross and Mark Waid react to twenty nagging Kingdom Come questions.

And the last section, Dramatis Personae, indexes every character seen or referenced in Kingdom Come with close to three hundred informative entries.

Bonus content, The Kingdom and Earth-X are previewed in interviews with Waid and Ross.
