    Checkmate Part Two of Five

I am beginning to think they really did kill off the Phantom's wife!

I suppose I'll have to see what happens by the fifth part but the grieving family of Kit, Heloise, and the Phantom are kind of tipping me off to the fact that this very well may be a permanent thing.

The thing I really like about this series is how they are really doing a great job updating the Phantom to make him relevant to the times. He is confronting all the civil unrest and terrorism that is in Africa and not only does he provide losses to the baddies, but he isn't invincible... he suffers losses.

The Phantom is on a mission now to find out who killed his wife. His kids want revenge but the Phantom stops to tell them that he fights for justice, not revenge.

I have seen many different Phantoms. Some are a little crazier than others. I am stunned that this Phantom has kept his composure so well. We will see if/when he finds the killer of his wife... how composed he really is.
