Tarot - Witch of the Black Rose #3: Witch War Chapter 3
Yes, the golden days of the Tarot comic, a time when the comics actually possessed an epic story and at the same time some beautiful women. I highly enjoyed the rivalry between sisters expressed in this comic as unfortunately I already know it does not last.
And the great levels of power seen through the use of magic shall also be forgotten, so I say that this comic should be treasured in the series, it is one of the few really good stories and from which the capabilities of Tarot should be taken.
This is also the comic where Brandi and Tarot first meet and the Crypt Chick's personality can be figured out. I must say that from this comic onward I have hated her so much. Some pay like the jealous b!thcy loner but its not my thing and so I have nothing positive to say about her.
Two other important moments in the comic (to me at least) is the first kiss between Tarot and Skeleton Man, a kiss that promises much more is on its way.
But as an added bonus, I enjoyed when Raven gouged out a man's eyes with her spiked bra because he loved looking at her breasts so much. It was awesome!
Tarot - Witch of the Black Rose #3: Witch War Chapter 3
So far out of the three chapters in this storyline, this is obviously the weakest of the three, however required to setup what most likely is a pretty epic, and hopefully cool conclusion to this storyline next issue.
We get to see Jon's ex be a sneaky dead bitch by looking out for herself and betraying him, plus we get to see a little more of the love affair that may happen between Jon and Tarot.
Mostly this story however is used to progress Raven Hex's diabolical plot... no longer does she seem satisfied by just raising her father from the dead... she wants all humans to pay for their poor treatment of witches in the past and basically to become queen of some new 'witch world' that she wishes to create over the ashes of the earth. Nothing too drastic.
The battle scene in this story was one to behold. I really like the weird dungeons and dragony, epic-type fighting they put in this comic. The eerie gestures, and witch fire sword movements are fantastic. My only gripe is the stupid EMO looking guy... Jon. Somebody kill 'im already n' let the fiery redhead play!
